In this global world, more and more people go abroad to work and study. But when people move to a completely new environment, they can experience culture shock. International Education Office at Australian National University((IEOANU),2008)defines culture as anxiety produced when people transfer to other culture and they don't know what is right or wrong.Obviously, culture shock has become an impediment to communication. This essay will discuss the ways to cope with culture shock. First of all, by becoming an active social participant of a new place, people can overcome culture shock.IEOANU(2008) suggests that people can volunteer in community activities which can reduce their stress and increase their confidence. Similarly, Oberg(1973) believes that when learners carry on a conversation with their neighbours or shop by themselves, they would be more confident and feel powerful. Thus, people can adapt to the new culture more easily if they engage themselves in social activities. In conclusion, we have many solutions to reduce the impact of culture shock. Joining in social activities and attempting to study new language are efficient methods. As far as I am concerened ,international students should be trained in overcome culture shock by themselves. The more they compel themselves to associate with and make local friends, the more opportunities they have to gain new culture's knowledge. It not only can broaden their horizons but also improve self-confidence and language ability.

In recent years, many people tend to go overseas in order to study or work. However, when they encounter new cultures, they may meet culture shock which is defined the anxiety produced when someone enters into a new environment(International Education Office, 2008). In other words, people might feel alone because they do not know what to do, and how to behave in a new place. But the culture shock can be minimized if people learn language of that new culture and actively participate in the social activities of the new culture. This essay will look into these solutions in details.

The first significant point that can reduce culture shock is learning new language. Oberg (1973) says that people can not be successful if they do not know the language in there. Similarly, according to Hile (1999), Language plays a significant role to support healthy intergration and expanding experience for overseas people. However, Also Oberg (1973) believe that, new language is not easy to learn, hence it is also the cause frustration and anxiety.

In conclusion, Culture shock can be the cause of stress and it impacts to mental of overseas. To solve these problems, there are some ways to cope with is, learning language of new place to understand each other, also improve their language ability and actively participate in the social activities of new culture to increase confidence. It is suggested that international students should be trained about culture shock before they go oversea, because it may assist them to overcome culture shock, and avoid the stress, lonly, k,homesick, furthermore they can integrate social or new environment easily.
