So many have followed your advice over the years and our world is all the better for it. I felt God's presence and His Love through your timely and beautifully written emails. I fondly remember a time Terry, you, and I were in NY on our way to solicit a new trustee. Our driver was lost and pulled into a mall parking lot. Without skipping a beat you said something like, "Oh, are were here so that Julie can buy more green clothes?" Your comment broke the nervous tension in the car and told me that you noticed that I always sported Loyola green. It made me feel less nervous about possibly showing up late with the President to the soon-to-be trustee's home.

While we haven't worked as closely since I transitioned roles I always enjoy seeing you on campus and will miss it.

I love that you always always remember the Class of '03!
Dear Father Linnane - thank you for your support to National Fellowships and Pre-Health Students. Below is a picture of you with some of our 2019 Fulbright recipients. I have great memories of celebrating the students' achievements with you as well as receiving your excellent email communications to our entire community, especially over the past year. Thank you also for cheering on my Oliver, '21, and Lukas (Villanova '22). All the best with your fellowship at Georgetown. It sounds wonderful and I am certain you have a lot to offer for that community of scholars and students as well! Yours sincerely, Maiju Lehmijoki Wetzel

I've been able to see an incredible transition from a smaller college to a national leading university over my last 8 years here. When I first arrived as a student in the fall of 2013, I was nervous to take the leap and leave New England for Maryland. Your advice to squeeze the sponge my first day on campus has led into a lifelong motto for me -- to truly get the most and best out of whatever life has to offer. Now, as a graduate student & administrator, I am happy to see that you have squeezed all that Loyola could offer, and that you are off to greener pastures. Thanks so much for all the laughs, the advice, and the kind words you have offered me and so many. God bless you on your new journey!

Joey Dwyer, '17, '21

Fr. Linnane, I think your greatest gift to Loyola has been a real balance of cura personalis and cura apostolica. It was clear from day one that you had a vision for Loyola. That vision has led to tremendous growth, and put the institution on the national stage. And, I've always been impressed at how you balanced that big picture thinking with individual care. Every time I've been back to Loyola since my graduation, I have been grateful to run into you, whether it be at an alumni event or at the 11am mass. You always had a kind word and seemed genuinely interested in what my friends and I had been up to. It is that balance I will remember.

I wish you well and look forward to the next time I run into you!

Maura Toomb Estevez, '08
