After the 19th amendment was passed and during the great depression it became a struggle for women to find employment. The only time women were given the chance to work was while the men were out fighting in WW2. They worked in factories and all other places that needed fills due to male absence. After the war they returned back to their normal traditional family home roles. During the 1970's when the Vietnam war happened women protested with the "make peace not war" campaign to go against a war and to go against the men leaving. Soon due to these previous actions, women believed in getting a bigger role in their society to have stable jobs to provide for their families. WW2 and the Vietnam war made women realize that they needed stable jobs instead of the traditional noneffective role of a "house wife", because having a real job will lead women into getting the equality they deserve.

The woman's rights movement had a thorough amount of causes leading up to its creation. [Women were denied equality for many years.] During World War II, the men were drafted, causing women to take over their jobs and prove that they too can be hard workers. Even so, she is assigned to jobs that involve greater physical strain and skill than many jobs done by men- but she is payed less. Women were stereotyped as homemakers and given low labor jobs. Therefore the woman's rights movement was a way for women to speak their minds and stand up against the discrimination.

Many say that women are incapable of doing the same work as men. Throughout history, women have been defined by their gender and not their capabilities. Unequal pay, unfair job opportunities, and unreasonable treatment in the workplace all have lead to the rise of the Women's Rights Movement. Women started to realize that they were worth way more than what they have been treated and started to take charge during the late 1900's due to this treatment. The Women's Rights Movement started the wave for change between the genders, very similar to the Civil Rights movement.

Throughout the period between 1942 and 1975, the women rights movement gained immense stronghold on the US society in order for the female today to be treated equally and represented in our community cordially. The main start of this big push for women equality was during WWII when the men were overseas fighting for our nation; however, we had no one in the factories to produce the proper goods in order to come out victorious in the most brutal war of world history. So in due course the women of the society filled in the mens places in manufacturing jobs. As the time period went on the womens right movement gained more and more strength especially 20 years later in the 60's, the decade of women fighting for their equal treatment. Through various struggles, women gained their equal treatment in the society we live in today.

Since all the men were returning from war during this time in history, the women were being kicked out of the workplace to have the men return to their jobs. A large percentage of the women in America were finally sick of discrimination happening in the work field. In result of this, during 1940-1975, the women's rights movement sparked a rise due to the discrimination in the system of employment, unfair salary earned in comparison to men, and women being pushed to the bottom of the caste system.

The Nation had just recently fought World War 1 leading into the time period of 1940-1975 which set the stage for what was to come. During this time period women realized what they were worth and that they deserved more rights such as those that men received. [This spark was lit when men went off to fight during World War 1 the women had to take part in supporting the nations economy, the rising desire for jobs meant that women were needed and the simple fact that women desired more.]

As we already know women filled in the spots of open jobs and opportunities that were open during the war and Great Depression. What makes that different now? The mistreatment of women and the discrimination they endured sure sparked a movement. In 1940-1975 women wanted the same opportunity that men were given.

In the time period from 1940-1975, World War II was ending. At the beginning of the war, many men were drafted who worked in order to make a living for their family. The effect of the war handed the burden of working to the women, forcing them to take over factory jobs, etc. in order to make money. After the war ended, the men came back to find all their jobs occupied. This lead to revolts by women on gender inequality in the workforce. Stereotypes of women depicted as more objects than equals to men surfaced, causing major controversy. Gradually women began to gain more rights, such as admittance into the army, and allowance into defense positions, all things that were only thought of to be tailored for men. The main causes of the rise of women's right in 1940-1975 were awareness of inequality in the workforce, unfair pay for the genders, and movements such as the civil rights movement that greatly influences the society.

Women struggled to get their rights because men had always felt like they were superior to women. Everything was very bias against women in the 1940's all the way up to 1975, it was believed that women were only able to do house chores and raise children-never could they imagine a women doing labor or working in factories-because that is what their society believed. Women had o prove what they were capable of and show the men that they were not objects and that they can do a mans job just as well as men can. During both world wars, women had to step up and take over factory jobs producing goods since the men were off fighting in the war. They stepped up to the task and took over the mans jobs while they were fighting in the war, after that some kept their factory jobs and some went home but they started thinking that they were apart of this country and deserved to have their voices hear. So they started rally's and organized marches and they fought for their rights as an American and as women. They said enough was enough and they were tired of being treated unequal from men and they wanted their voices heard loud and clear, and people heard loud and clear just as they wanted.

That is until war time came around the period of 1940-1975 and with almost all men fighting in war women needed to support america at home by getting jobs and with these came the fight for women's rights. With jobs came the problems of underpayment and discrimination int he work place. As well as the realization that even though they work now women were still treated as just a house worker and did not earn any rights inherently and left them with no ground to gain rights from men.

In the United States of America, the main goal is always progression. Women in particular, had to do an immense amount of defending and fighting to get to where they've gotten today. In the early 1940's- after WWII ending in 1945- women started to truly recognize how unfair they've been treated in comparison to men and were pushed to start movements by the unfair treatments, unequal rights, near impossible expectations, and the realization that women can be just as- if not more- capable as men in the work force.. While men and some women we're at war, women worked the jobs of the men, for a much less pay rate even if women had to strain themselves more and work harder than the men did. In the period from 1940-1975, women put their voices into use and took action against the discrimination. Not only were women discriminated from men, other women-such as Miss USA- gave negativity towards other women oppressing them for looks, including white women against other races of women. Many groups of women held primarily non-violent protests to defend their sex such as protests and boycotts. Through all of the hard work brought by women and feminists in this time period, many laws were passed to bring equality such as the right to education in 1972, bringing us to the more equal world we have today.
