I cannot wait for this trip. This will be my second study abroad trip with Delaware Tech. I had the privilege to study with Dr. Madden and Mrs. Burton to Paris two years ago. I work part time with Acme Markets, I do just about everything I can at work. I haven't really figured out what I want to do past graduation, but I have another year for that. While in Amsterdam I am looking forward to visiting the Anne Frank house, and on our free day going to the Van Gogh museum. My name is Tanner and I am a nursing student trying to pick my GPA back up to the standard level it needs to be! I love traveling and when I saw the chance to travel to Belgium and Netherlands I could not miss the chance! The farthest I have traveled has been Sydney and Melbourne Australia. This is a picture is from Normandy France in one of the bunkers from Dday and Susan, Randy and myself spent the day touring this place! I plan on being at Del Tech 1 more year to complete all the classes needed to get a 3.8 GPA for Nursing School and then plan on attending Old Dominion University to start a program where I will acquire up to my Doctoral Degree in Nursing at the end of the tour. My name is Wendy and I am absolutely over the top excited about this study abroad opportunity!!! I work at Delaware Tech Owens campus in the Human Resources office. I have been working at DTCC for 13 years. I am working on my OAT degree and have been for more years than I care to share! I am hoping to one day earn a BS in Human Resources Management. The most important thing in my life is my family (pictured below). I have been married to Jeff for 23 years and have two amazing daughters, Samantha and Katlyn, and the most phenomenal grandaughter, Addison. My oldest daughter, Samantha, is also in the study abroad program. We are both really excited and grateful for the opportunity to travel to Belgium and the Netherlands together. I have never really "traveled" before, I have taken cruises and been to Mexico, Dominica, St. Marteen and several other places but never spent a night in any of those places. I consider that vacation rather than travel. This will be the first time I have ever truly immersed myself into another culture. I am most excited to visit the Anne Frank house. I am currently living in West Chester, PA, but I grew up in Newark. I attend West Chester University part-time as a History major, and I work a few days a week at Newlin Grist Mill and West Chester Public Library. I really have no idea when I will end up graduating, but I am hoping that it will be in the next three years.

This is the first time that I have lived anywhere other than Delaware, and I am wondering if there might be some parallels that can be drawn from visiting or residing in a foreign country. For instance, almost all of my co-workers at the Grist Mill are from Delaware, thus none of us are accustomed to having to calculate sales tax. Therefore, on any price listings, one will also find a column listing the calculated sales tax, next to the item price. However, I have found that working at the library,  my coworkers appear to automatically add the additional cost. I find it funny how something that initially appeared to be so trivial, can become so difficult to remember. 

I am very excited to be joining all of you on this trip! I have never been outside of North America. I am very interested in farming, so having the chance to visit the Royal FloraHolland Aalsmeer.
