Review of Plickering

I found plickering very useful especially for quick feedback on tasks or as a reward (game) after getting through a difficult topic. Great for formative assessment as well as for wrapping up a specific skill. I love the fact that I can work easily on the app on my phone as well. I just joined and it was very easy to use. Though I had a quick trial from a classmate in class prior to me using it to create my own.

While doing my research, I stumbled on Ted Ed and I believe it's a great way to create content for blended learning classrooms. It allows the teacher to use already existing videos or create videos and ask questions.

https://ed.ted.com/

I really like the ease of use and page flip component of this application. I can see this being used in any subject matter. I'm interested in seeing how students can collaborate on the same book for a project.

I found texthelp or read&write for google chrome to be a little overwhelming/confusing at first. You first need to download the program (its free) and then when you pull up a program with google chrome like wikipedia, you will see a small, purple icon in the right corner of your screen that says 'rw'. A 'read and write toolbar' will appear with features that are fun to utilize. I like that when you highlight text it will read it for you (which is great for young children). I also like the vocabulary and simplify features where are also good for young students.
