This episode of Drunk History talks about how Section 504 of The Rehabilitation Act (which protects people with disabilities (PWD) against discrimiation) was signed. The episode follows Judith Heumann because she started the first protest for PWD in San Francisco and led a group of activists to Washington DC resulting in the signing of Section 504 and paved the way for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

It is called "Glass Jar" and expresses how the individual feels stuck, like a bug in a glass jar. This poem spreads awareness of the hardships associated with an individual's inability to communicate fully.

Ray Charles, a musician and songwriter, released a song called "I Don't Need No Doctor." Ray Charles was blind, so the song appears to be discussing his disability. He writes about how medical care isn't the cure to his illness, and writes "I don't need my doctor, only my baby's arms." I understood this to signify how PWD are too often considered disabled, when really, they are differently abled and their remedies are similar to everyone, such as being with loved ones, as opposed to needing a "cure."
