A decimal number is a number that is not a whole, but a part of it, a decimal it on the left side of the whole number, decimals can also be linked with fractions. A decimal is a number that is below zero, it can be used to add or subtract numbers below zero.

A fraction is used in our everyday lives by paying different things, it can be used for math, getting your salary (being paid), also in stationary, and calculators.

After working on decimals with the decimat and the websites on edmodo, wiht the ratings out of 4 i think i got 4 but i don't really want to teach someone else, overall it was good because i learnt quiet a bit from this session

We mainly use decimals in our daily lives in money and to measure things using millimetres, centimetres, metres and kilometres. Decimals are another way of writing fractions. Like 21/100 can be written as 0.21 or 21%.

A decimal number is a number used to represent a part of a whole/whole number. Decimal numbers are used in cash/money, or to measure how much of a measurement/unit of something for example, 2.6 million dollars, or 2.6 kilos. Decimals are sort of another way of writing a fraction. For example 0.2 is also said as 2/10 or 20/100. You can convert fractions into decimals, by converting the fractions into percentages like this. You want to figure out the decimal of 4/10 by doing this. 4/10 x 100. This is equal to 40% or in other words .40 or .4. It is .40/.4 because the 40 is out of a hundred, and there is a hundredth place value slot in decimals.

I am a number 4, in terms of our goal today. The goal was to be able to recognise, name and model, tenths hundredths and thousandths. This is due to me already knowing about decimals, I got some more additonal knowledge

I am a 4 on the ice-cream cone scale. I also learnt that a decimat is a great way to work out decimals.  I already knew and this is why i believe i am a 4 is because There are thousandths, Hundreths and tenths. There is a deci point and it comes in the middle of the whole and the fraction. For example 325.787
