Write your SMART Goals in paragraph form in the appropriate column. Read your classmates' goals and see if you can provide SPECIFIC positive, corrective feedback. Do not just write "nice goal". Why is it a great S.M.A.R.T. goal? Use the S.M.A.R.T. template to determine whether or not it is a valid goal. If not, what is it missing? Provide feedback to as many students as possible.

My goal is to do one push-up a day. I would make a timer to remind me that I need to do the push-up, and then do it. I can log the days that I do the push-up in the fitness log journal. Yes, I need to set a timer for every day and then I need to do the one pushup. I might not be motivated or follow through, I will add the inspirational quote.Yes because one push-up a day is not very hard. I will achieve my goal by June 1st.

My fitness goal is to be able to do 10 push-ups all at once and strengthen my biceps. I can probably take more time out of my day to do things that strengthen your biceps such as weight lifting. I also have to be consistent and stick to schedule. I can measure progress by recording myself every time I exercise. I will know when my goal is achieved when I get to ten pushups. I will be doing the activity every 1-2 days for around 30-60 minutes. This goal is an action I can take. I know I have to stay consistent and I can start out with other forms of push-ups until I get the correct form correct. I think that my management of time might interfere with this goal, and to prevent this I can set a schedule for myself. This goal is definitely realistic, I can currently do 5 push-ups so I don’t think I will be too much of a problem to learn how to do ten. This is for sure doable in the next few months. The best time in the week is probably the weekend because I always feel more motivated during the weekend and sometimes I get so bored that I start working out.

I want to try and fix my sleep schedule and try to focus on school more. I’m going to try and stick to schedule until summer vacation, and then give myself a break during summer vacation. I know I have to stay constant and consistent and I know that I have to finish everything on time and prioritize my school. This goal is doable in the next few months, it doesn’t take too much time to fix a sleep schedule for me and I’ve been trying to prioritize school for a while now. Best time of week is probably the school days and I could use the weekend to catch up.

I will just know how far along I am in a song or how well a play a song. Again I will practice for 20 minutes everyday. I already practice almost everyday so it’s not that big of a jump. But my siblings could get in the way or my homework. I need to keep those two things in check. I am super motivated to play ukulele right now so this should be a breeze. I will start today (March 3rd) and end on June 1st.

My personal goal for this section is sleeping more. My goal is to try to go to bed everyday at like 8:00 - 9:00 depending on how I feel and I will track myself everyday like how long I sleep. I think that friday will be the day where I can have like a "cheat day" and go to bed a little late because I have to get used to going to sleep and its going to be hard to make that adjustment. This is also a very good benefit because right now, I don't really have a good sleep schedule and it's not healthy. This is good because it will help me get back onto my sleeping schedule and get used to sleeping early and waking up early. This will be very effective towards me and my physical / mental health. And I have some ways that can also improve me going to sleep better and easily such as drinking a hot beverage like tea and reading a book to make my eyes sleepy. This is actually on of my fav goals. It will help me get back on track.

I want to try to cycle more becuase ever since coronavirus, I have had a hard time to get air and be physically active. So my goal is to try to cycle every other day so it's like i'm working on getting the goal accomplished but Im not like pressuring myself to do it. And on like my days when I don't do it, I can like alternate between other workout's like yt videos, treadmill, and any other physical activity. I will be able to accomplish this by having a specific timing everyday to go cycling or on the machine because I am looking forward to get the machinery so if I don't have access going out, i can complete the goal at home. But, like I said I can alternate and this is totally doable becuase it's not like Im constantly doing the same thing. I will be alternating and now sice corona, I don't really do anything and nothing will really stop me from doing this. This is also a very good benefit for me because with my health condition diabetes, this will help me stable my glucose and get my activity in.

My goal is to be able to walk for 1 hour without taking a break. To achieve this goal I will need to get out more and go on more walks. This will help my legs to become stronger to walk for 1 hour without needing a break. To help motivate me I will listen to more upbeat music while I walk, this will help me be more motivated and energetic to achieve my goal. I can measure my progress by timing how long I can walk without taking a break and if I do need one then counting how many breaks I take. This will help me decide what my limit is and how I can achieve my goal. I will know when the goal is achieved when I see that I am able to walk for 1 hour straight without taking a break. I will go on a walk 5 times a week, Saturday, Monday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Each walk I will keep a timer with me and walk for 25 mins, if I can go for more then I will walk until I feel like I need a break. Then I can practice walking and building my stamina for a long period of time without needing a break. This goal is an action I can take. Some specific actions I will need to take is that I will need to make sure to stretch my legs. I will also need to eat more foods that contain more proteins in them so I will have energy when I walk for longer periods of time. Something that can prevent me from achieving my goal is time. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have enough to go for a walk because of school work or other things like taking care of my baby brother. I also have to be home by sunset so I can’t go on a walk whenever. I can overcome this by doing some jogging at my house. Another obstacle can become the weather. If there is snow, rain, wind, etc, I can do more leg strengthening exercises like heel raises, lunges, squats at home instead. My goal is realistic for me because I do have enough room and space I need to achieve my goal. I believe that the time frame for me to achieve my goal is more than enough and I don’t need tools or equipment besides maybe a timer to achieve my goal. I will start to work on this goal on March 1st and I will achieve this goal by June 1st. I will do this every Saturday, Monday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

My goal is to decrease my screen time from 6 to 3 hours a day (excluding school). To achieve this goal I will need to set reminders to get off my device. I could also use the screen time limit feature on my devices to decrease my screen time. I will measure my progress by checking my screen time on my devices at the end of each day and see if I am moving more towards my goal. I will know when my goal is achieved when I check my screen time and have used only 3 hours of screen time. This is an action I am able to take. I will need to set reminders and get into new hobbies like reading, cooking, etc. These new hobbies will make me less bored and help me to achieve my goal. Something that can prevent me from achieving my goal is that maybe I am lazy and don’t want to get off my devices which can be hard. One thing I can do to overcome this obstacle is that I can tell my mom to remind me to get off my device and IF NEEDED to take the device away😭. My goal is realistic for me because it is something I can get better on and do within the time frame. I can do different hobbies like drawing, cooking, reading, etc, to distract me from my devices and to use less screen time. I will start to work on this goal on March 1st and I will achieve this goal by June 1st.

Fitness Goal: For my fitness goal I would really like to focus on being able to include different acts of physical exercise in my everyday life.I can specifically go about doing this by keeping a daily checklist of what I have done for that day, things like drinking water, getting enough sleep, completing my homework and getting physical exercise to be able to remind myself to go out and get physical exercise.
It will be easy for me to understand and monitor the progress I have and have not made, by checking at the end of each day to see if I have gotten any exercise done. If I am steadily getting exercise every day, I will know that my goal is getting completed. I do believe that this goal is an action that I can specifically take, because I do a lot of things that involve doing exercise in my daily life, like walking to the train and school everyday, walking up the stairs to my apartment, doing chores. One thing that may prevent me from achieving my goal is forgetting to add in the physical activity every day. I can overcome this obstacle by making it a routine before bed to enter this in. I think that this goal is realistic for me to achieve, and that it is doable in the next few months, because, as said, I do a lot of things that involve doing exercise in my daily life.
I will start today, and finish this by june first.

My personal goal is to start meditating more: I used to meditate for 35 minutes a week. But now I want to boost it up to 55 minutes a week by June 1st. I will measure my progress using my personal planner. It has a page to reflect, a to-do list, and it also has a calendar. I have this strictly for things outside of school. I can write down the minitues I meditate every day and add it up on the weekends. I like to meditate in the morning, where there are less distractions, so if I can set up alarms to encourage myself to wake up early I know I can succeed.

Downtime is where I can schedule time away from the screen(it will lock at the time I set it to). I will also limit myself to not take my phone during homework or school hours. I can also find something to do in between this time that I enjoy so I can be distracted by that. (ex: drawing, coloring, etc) I will be able to use my phone from 3-4 pm after school and lunch, and then again from 7-9 pm at night. Since I go to sleep at 10:30 I will have about an extra hour and a half to keep my eyes rested from the screen before sleeping. This will help limit myself from staring at a screen for so long, so it doesn’t drain my eyes. I can measure my progress by checking my screen time at the end of the day in settings, then I will record my progress at the end of each day in my journal. If I go to settings it will tell me my daily average, and my weekly average too so after I check that, I can write it down in my journal. I will know when this goal is achieved if I reach 4 hours or if my screen time even decreases! I will be doing this everyday, constantly, in order to achieve this goal. I will not be on my phone for 7 hours. I will start from the time I wake up till 3pm, and then again from 4pm to 7pm, and then from 9pm till 10:30pm.(these are the times where I won’t be on my phone) I think this goal is an action I can take, I will need to be motivated and understand that the outcome would be relaxful for me and my body, and I will also need to keep my phone away from me, try to find something to do to fill up time, and go to settings and set everything up! Something that will prevent me from achieving this goal is being bored. I think I can do this but I seem to always be bored which is why I take my phone to fill up that boredom, but if I do find a hobby or something that can fill up my time I can definitely overcome this obstacle. I think this goal is realistic for me to achieve because if I follow the steps I listed it should be pretty easy. Yes, I go on my phone a lot, but if my phone locks automatically and stops me I won't go on it, this is why I think it is doable in the next few months. I will start this goal on Monday, the 7th, and it will finish on June 1st. I think starting on Monday will be good because it’s the start of a new week! The best time in the week to do this goal is everyday, starting from morning to night(the times I listed earlier).

That includes the butterfly for 3o seconds , pigeon pose both legs each for 30 seconds, figure 4 both legs each for 30 seconds, runner lunge both legs each 30 seconds and lastly standing forward fold for 30 seconds.....I will measure my progress in my fitness journal. This way I can see progress each day....

I can measure my progress by charting how many push ups I did compared to last week. The goal will be achieved when I can do at least 20 push ups without stopping. I would need to research the workouts that help the muscle groups that push ups work. I would also need to make time to do these workouts instead of playing video games. I'm probably going to be working out 3 times a week and workout more the better I get. This is realistic because I was able to do a little over 20 pushups in a row before the pandemic. I stopped working out a lot and now I can barely do any. Plus, If I'm able to do 1 or more push ups than last week, I should reach my goal by the beginning of June or earlier.

Fitness Goal: I want to increase my curl ups from 10 to 15. To achieve this fitness goal I can keep doing curl ups every week day. I want to try to do 1 curl up everyday and then slowly keep increasing the amount until I reach my goal. If I keep practicing my curl ups they will get easier and easier. I also want to do other exercises that focus on my abdominal muscles because the curl up focuses on strengthening the abdominal muscles. I want to do exercises like planks, pushups, and obviously keep practicing my curl ups. Not only if I practice my curl ups every week day and also do small exercises that focus on the abs then that will make me more comfortable and help me reach my goal in a easier and faster way. I can measure my progress by writing it down in my fitness journal. I can write everyday how many curl ups that I have done until my finish date. I will know when I have achieved my goal when I am able to do 15 curl ups! I will be doing this activity 5 days a week, so everyday weekdays, most likely afterschool, and keep increasing my curl up one by one till I achieve the goal. I think this is an action I can take, I will need to stay motivated, something that will prevent me from achieving my goal is being too lazy and tired. I will overcome these obstacles by looking back to my motivation quote that keeps me going. It is “A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work”. This really motivates me and helps me do better. I have this quote on a post-it, on the back of my clear phone case, since I always have my phone I always see it and read it when I need it. This goal is realistic for me because I'm pretty good and doing curl ups, and I think it is doable in a few months because it is only 5 more curl ups by about 3 months and that's not that much, and if I keep practicing my curl ups, and do more ab exercises to make the curl ups easier I will definitely be able to do 15 curl ups by my finish date. I will start this goal on Monday, the 7th, and I will finish it on June 1st. I think starting on monday is a good time to start because it’s the start of a new week! I will be doing these exercises every weekday after school ends so I can have a rest on the weekends.

I want to hold a plank for 45 seconds, in one try. I can specifically first start doing modified planks, to start. I already know I can do 40 seconds, in 2 sets. Next, to practice more. Do it more often, and more time. I need to find out times, I am more free and active. I will measure my goal in my fitness journal. Counting how long I can hold it each day, and how long I have been doing it. Or I can put it in my notes, to not forget to put it in my journal. I know when my goal is achieved by holding a plank for 45 seconds straight. I will often do the activity for 2-3 days a week. Probably during the afternoon. Yes, this goal is an action I can take. Since, I already did a 40 second plank in 2 sets. So, if I keep practicing, I can do it. Some actions I will need to take is to have a space ready. Try to find different modified kinds. Also, I can have music and things to pump me up. Have, like support from friends. I can even try videos. Something that will prevent me from achieving my goal is procrastination/laziness. I can overcome those obstacles by having a timer or like a phone/website blocker. Blocking specific apps. I can clear my surroundings to. It is realistic to achieve since I can do 2 sets in 40 seconds. So, if I keep practicing for more of a long time, I can do it. It is doable since I can do some seconds. Just have to practice a lot. Also, there is a lot of time, if I do it for 2-3 days each week, I can do it. We will have to achieve it by June 1st. I can start tomorrow, March 9th, 2021. Since, I am writing the goal now. The best times for me would be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Since, I am less busy and more motivated. More of 1:00-2:00 pm. Since, I’m done with school, and I have the school motivation to do it.

I want to read more books. Like, 25+ books. I can specifically go about this goal to try to read 1 book a week at least. Well if I can. The steps I would need to take is trying to first find a place I can concentrate. Next, find books I like. It's harder since I dislike online books the most. I would need no distraction. I can measure my progress by having this reading log. Or like on the site I am reading at having my reading history. I can see how much I am reading each month. I will know I achieved this goal by having my book history spike. Like, showing I have read a lot of books during that time. Yes, this goal is an action I can take. Since, I am a bookworm but don’t really have the motivation. I need to take steps to try to start slow on books. Like, not that long books, to more advanced books. Something that will prevent me from achieving my goal is homework and finding time. I can overcome those obstacles by finishing my homework in the beginning so I don’t have to deal with it later. Which will save more time. It is realistic since I love books already. But I have fallen out of it. So, if I focus I can do it. It is doable next month, since I will be reading each day for a little. So, by the time I am done I probably will have read a lot. We will have to achieve this goal by June 1st. I can start now, like finding a book. They read it each day. I'll try to read each day, since I have the accessibility to read easily. Also, I enjoy it. I can read it any time, just have to look at my phone.

To achieve my goal I can try to practice several different activities that help build the strength in my arms (deltoids + pectorals) and abdominals. This way, it will give me a better possibility of achieving my goal. I can do 2-3 reps of chest presses (with lightweight), planks, cable crossovers, bicycle crunches, russian twists, and various types of push-ups (hand release, knee, etc…). Some actions I will need to take is to set a time in the day where I can practice these exercises. I can try and start at around 4:30 p.m., workout for 45 minutes, and end at around 5:15. I can try and find more resources that will help me perform better push-ups. Find additional fitness videos, apps, or websites. Some things that will prevent me from accomplishing my goal is low motivation or being given a lot of homework that may interfere with the time-frame I would want to work out to. To avoid this issue I can set multiple alarms (be more on top of things and productive) and work on self-care (try and be less distracted). I can measure my progress in my fitness journal. Every day, I can remind myself to write down the exercises or workout routines I had done that specific day. I can also link a separate document similar to this where I log down the total number of reps of push-ups I was able to do one day. That way, my progress won’t be lost and I am able to look over it. Yes, I feel like this goal is very realistic. I will try and start this goal by the end of this week, Friday, March 12, 2021, and finish it by June 1st, 2021.

I want to spend less time on the screen. I will try to make a schedule on when I can go on my screen and when I can’t, and try to find other things to do like drawing or reading a book. My device has this feature where I can check how many hours I’ve been on. School can add extra hours to my time checker, and I tend to stay on because I can’t go outside as often because of COVID. I believe it is doable in the next few months. I’ll try to be on during school hours and 5 pm- 8pm on the weekdays, and 9 am-10am as well as 5pm-8pm on the weekend.

My personal goal is to get more sleep and to wake up earlier on a daily basis. Normally, on a weekday I tend to sleep at around 11:30 p.m. meaning by the time I wake up I would have only gotten around 8 hours of sleep. My goal is to sleep at a more reasonable time, around 9:30 or 10 p.m., that way I can wake up at 6:45 or 7:00 a.m. One step I would need to take is to try and avoid drinking or eating any foods and/or beverages that contain a lot of sugar or caffeine. If I do so, it will make sleeping at a more reasonable time easier than it needs to be. To help me achieve this goal, I can also try and avoid going on the screen before the time I want to go to bed. I can put away all my devices at 9 p.m so I can go to sleep an hour or so after that. Some actions I will need to take are to make alarms, for the morning and night. I can make one’s at 9:30, 9:45, or 10:00 p.m. and one’s at 6:45 and 7:00 a.m. One way I can measure my progress is in the health app on my phone. I can set up how many hours of sleep I would want to get, on Monday through Friday. Then, I can create a sleep schedule, where it will let me know what time I went to sleep that specific day and what time I woke up. This way, my progress is always available to me. Yes, I feel that this goal is realistic and that I can successfully achieve it. I can take small steps here and there. In the beginning, I can try to sleep 10 minutes before 11, and from there I gradually go to 9 p.m or 9:30. I will try and start this goal by the end of this week, Friday, March 12, 2021, and finish it by June 1st, 2021.
