I feel as though they shouldn't because this decision can affect a child life forever.

I knew this girl who couldn't ever come and play with us because she had cancer and her immune system was terrible and she constantly had to be in the house dealing with medicine. She didn't have a childhood.

Smoking while pregnant is a selfish decision to make for the simple fact that you will not only harm yourself but also your child.

Although not everyone will experience the same effects as others, no one should take that risk and potentially put their child in danger.

Smoking cigarettes during pregnancy can cause the baby to be born premature and be born too small or even die before it is born. When you inhale the chemicals in a cigarette it goes into your bloodstream and that's your baby's only source of oxygen and nutrients.

I believe smoking cigarettes during pregnancy is very harmful to the baby and is like a bad part on the mothers side, because she will have to take care of the baby the rest of her life and that baby could end up having an illness or even die from her smoking. Mothers that smoke while being pregnant are just flat out stupid for their decision My mother smoked, so when she was pregnant with me she stopped smoking immediately.

Smoking while pregnant leads to very horrible results for the baby. I learned that in class that can cause your baby to have a small head or the baby lives to not even be a year old dying in their sleep.

My'Asia: Good morning, I would like to ask you various questions that relate to smoking while pregnant. Please introduce yourself and give insight on who you are.

Mrs. Simpson: Good morning, I am a health teacher at Cochrane Collegiate Academy. Although we don't specifically address smoking while pregnant I can give you some information about the dangers associated with them.

My'Asia: Could you please express your opinions towards smoking while pregnant?

Mrs. Simpson: Mothers are constantly placing their children into harm way each time they use these harmful substances, but not only when using but also in the same environment as someone else that smokes. Second hand smoke is not only harmful for mothers and their fetus but also harmful to children, and other adults leading to cancer.

My'Asia: Do you know if mothers are aware of the dangers that they may bring to their fetus?

Mrs. Simpson: I do believe that some mothers have a sense of awareness but not all.
