The community mostly looks after others, with lots of local, independent shops. Very busy during the summer months with lots of holidaymakers, much quieter in the winter months. One GP surgery which covers settle and surrounding areas so can be difficult to get appointments unless you need it on the same day. Great for families with young children with the schools, but not so much for young adults, including the cost of property her. Career opportunities are rare so would mean commuting, good rail links to larger towns and cities.

It’s fairly quiet within Whitehaven, not as much crime as can be see in in worcestershire. There is an apparent lack of dentistry provision, doctors surgeries are a little sparse. Luckily we live closely enough to west Cumberland infirmary as it can take over an hour to get to Carlisle on a good day. This area is great for children and young people in regards to open spaces and schools.

Great for families, although there are Facebook groups who complain a lot (a LOT) about younger children "youths" and teenagers. Not much crime, mainly just ASBO's. The area is a lovely area however there can be rough areas due to crime. The community around me has made me aware of situations that many can face when struggling with poverty, lack of education etc. This applies to my nursing aswell as i understand that I would be treating different people in different situations and it makes you think more.
