Breakfast
- Half of one slice of toasted whole grain bread, cut into two

- One small tangerine, peeled and separated

- Half cup of strawberry yogurt

- Small smoothie with 1/2 cup bananas, 1/2 cup raspberries and strawberries, 1/4 cup spinach, and 1 cup milk

The whole grain of the bread will provide the proper amount of grains for the toddler. Cutting one slice in half and cutting it into two pieces will

make it easier for the toddler to pick up and eat. Tangerines contain lots of Vitamin C that the toddler needs to grow and function. By peeling and separating the tangerine, they are able to easily pick up the small pieces of fruit on their own. The yogurt will provide calcium, potassium, and a good amount of Vitamin D. By making a smoothie, it is easy to hide vegetables with other food items that the child may like. It is easy for them to drink while still giving them the dairy, fruit, and vegetable food groups that they need.

Late Morning Snack
- Graham crackers and/or applesauce

- Water

Graham crackers with out without applesauce is a light snack that will keep the toddler full until it is time for lunch. By breaking up the crackers for them, they can easily pick them up. When eating applesauce, giving them a child-size spoon will make it more fun and easy to eat. Though it's not the healthiest option, the crackers do contain fiber and the toddler will be attracted to the sweetness of them. Provide water to hydrate the toddler, especially if they have been running around and playing.

Lunch

- Hummus spread onto four small slices of pita

- Sliced cucumbers

- Diced strawberries

- Milk

Hummus has the presence of nutritious plant-based protein with the help of chickpeas. It can replace the absence of a meat and the protein it gives off. The pita bread under the hummus provides the grains that a toddler needs. Sliced cucumbers and diced strawberries make it easy for the toddler to pick up by themselves and is an easy way to get in their daily intake of fruits and vegetables.

Afternoon Snack

- String cheese
- Water

The cheese will give them a proper amount of protein and keep them full until it's time for dinner

Dinner

- Grilled chicken

- Green beans

- Mashed potatoes

- Milk

The chicken will give the toddler the proper amount of protein without being fried or breaded. The green beans are an easy way to get in their daily serving of vegetables. Homemade mashed potatoes can be a healthier alternative than store-bought. Provide water to keep the toddler hydrated.

Breakfast
- Whole grain pancake

- Greek yogurt

- Diced avocado

- Diced pears

- Milk

The whole grain pancake is filling while still being nutritious with the help of providing grains for the toddler. Cut or tear the pancake in smaller pieces and do not add syrup. The diced avocado and pears will help start the day off with the right amount of fruit. Milk and yogurt provide the dairy food group.

Late Morning Snack
- Hummus

- Carrot sticks

Hummus provides protein and carrots provide Vitamin K and Potassium which can help improve eye health.

Lunch

- Peanut butter and jelly toast on whole grain bread

- Cherry tomatoes (cut in half)

- Turkey

- Water

Toast with peanut butter and jelly is sweet enough and will appeal the toddler to want to continue to eat it. Cherry tomatoes are a good vegetable and easy to eat. The turkey is s good source of protein.

Afternoon Snack

- Cucumbers

Dinner

- Plain pasta with sauce on the side

- Corn

- Crockpot meatballs

- Milk

Pasta cut up is an easy way to have the toddler feed themselves and fill them up until the next day. Corn is a good way to get vegetables in and it’s small enough to be scooped up with a spoon, which can help the toddler learn how to use a spoon. Meatballs provide protein while still being tasty.
