         <title>Computing - First Steps – Roll on Roll off (RORO) Terms 1, 2 &amp; 3 – 10 sessions per term, 2 hrs per session9.30 – 11.30What are the overall aims of the course?The structure of this course will allow learners to attend as they are able. Topics can be agreed as learners progress. There is no harm in repeating topics at this level and is indeed a requirement for learning.In this course you will gain an introduction to general computing skills to be able to use the computer, keyboard and mouse. You will also learn how to safely use email and the internet for online services and to communicate to improve everyday living, such as accessing local public services, information and communicating. This will increase confidence and self-esteem for newcomers to technology with a focus on E-Safety and explaining computing terminology.What will I learn on the course?•	How to use the mouse and different functions of the keyboard•	How to navigate and manage the Windows environment•	Enter text and edit it in Microsoft Word (delete and insert letters and words; copy and paste text)•	Format the text appropriately, for example underline, centre and change font size•	Save, open and print documents•	Use the computer online, gain understanding of how the Internet works.•	Use the Internet including searching for and using websites.•	Access public services online i.e. council, NHS, local services and information of interest.•	Use Favourites to save websites•	Set up an Email account on computer and phone•	Send and receive emails•	Send and receive attachments•	Avoiding junk mail and computer virusesComputing - Next Steps – Roll on Roll off (RORO) Terms 1, 2 &amp; 3 – 10 sessions per term, 2 hrs per session 11.45 – 1.45What are the overall aims of the course?In this course, we will build on the basic skills learnt in First Steps. As well as consolidating and building your confidence, we will teach you additional formatting techniques for Word Processing, moving on from what you already know.We will also learn how to use the iPad &amp; iPhone to keep in touch with friends and family such as using Skype, understanding other social media Apps such as FaceTime and WhatsApp to keep in touchThis course is designed to give students a deeper understanding and more practice using the computer for word processing, internet and email. Also an overall understanding of how to use many features of the iPad / iPhone and how the technology works. Also on the course students will be able to learn how to use the Camera and Video App&#39;s, manage and edit photos.What will I learn on the course?•	Enter and edit text and format it appropriately, for example align paragraphs, change font type, size and colour•	Use bullet points and numbering•	Insert pictures, shapes or symbols•	Adjust page margins and orientation•	Save, open and print documents•	Download the Skype App onto the iPad•	Create a Skype account•	Find friends and add to Skype•	Make video calls•	Discuss other ways to stay in touch using other social media Apps•	Learn basic navigation techniques for the iPad &amp; iPhone devices, including touch screen tips•	Learn how to use popular apps.•	Manage your iPad using Settings•	Use YouTube to watch video clips and listen to music.•	Take pictures and video&#39;s using your iPad.Computing – Moving on – Roll on Roll off (RORO) Terms 1, 2 &amp; 3 – 10 sessions per term, 2 hrs per session 2.15 – 4.15What are the overall aims of the course?This course is for learners to attend who have a good grasp of the First and Next Steps in computing.
