I like this mural because it lets me see what the old days in Ang Mo Kio looked like.

What I like about this mural is that it captures a lively scene from the olden days, represent a communal kopitiam setting where a lively group of old uncles has gathered to enjoy breakfast, reading newspapers and enjoying each other’s company. The atmosphere is filled with warm hum of conversation and laughter.

I like this mural as it compares both the past and present of Ang Mo Kio. In the past there used to be Kampong houses, people selling fruits and etc. In the present, the houses look much more modern and well built.

I like this mural as it gives a nostalgic sense of the past, showing a shop that sold kitchenware during the times when the older generation lived.

Location: The mural is located at Blk 342 Ang Mo Kio Ave 1, on the walls of the Ang Mo Kio Town Council Office. It’s right next to Teck Ghee Court Market and Food Centre.

I love how it uses the existing overhanging roof and windows, making it look like the features of these kampung houses. I also like how it shows how people sell fruits.

I like this mural because it talks about the 3R's, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. I also like that it is near a Wet Market/Food Court as we can also apply the 3R's there. There is a recyclable bag at the back, hanging. The mural also shows two different eras recycling, Then and Now.

I like this mural because of the vibrant colours of the parrot and i think that the parrot is very cute especially with the cherry it is holding.

I like this mural because the colours used for the flowers are very vibrant and pretty. The shading is also done well and is very pleasing to the eye.

I like this mural as the background seems so peaceful yet vibrant. It shows how the old Ang Mo Kio is like, compared to the present Ang Mo Kio as the murals are scenes recreated. At the same time, I noticed that the history of Ang Mo Kio is put into this mural, showing how Ang Mo Kio used to only have houses which are not well-built.However, Ang Mo Kio is now a well-developed estate where more and more people live in.

I like this mural because it is colourful and vibrant and it showcases how the Durian stall owners kept the kampong spirit alive during the pandemic. It also showcases the commonly seen durian stalls in the area nicely during the covid pandemic.

I like this mural because of how vibrant the colours are and it also showcases how even though the covid-19 pandemic impacted the whole of Singapore severely, there is actually some light in the dark as it shows how Singaporeans can still have their kampong spirit of always eating and selling durians even if it was in those tough times.
