GATE Exam by Career Gyaani

GATE which is known as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted by seven IITs and IISc Bangalore. GATE Exam is conducted for the admission to postgraduate (PG) courses in M.Tech /M.E/ M.Arch / Ph.D. It is also used by some Public and Private Sector Undertakings (PSU) for employment process in India.

GATE 2018 will be conducted by the IIT Guwahati on 3rd, 4th, 10th & 11th February 2018. To participate in GATE 2018, candidates have to fill the online application form which will be available from 1st September onwards. The last date of filing the application form is 5th October. The GATE Result will be declared on 17th March 2018.

Exam Pattern of GATE

GATE is conducted online and the total time duration of the exam will be 3 hours. The exam will carry two types of questions that are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT). During the exam, candidates have to select the correct answer for MCQs type questions while for Numerical type questions, they have to enter the numeric answer by mouse on a virtual keypad on the screen.

GATE Admit Card

The conducting authority of GATE releases the admit cards about one month before the exam. The admit card is made available online for the candidates and they can download the same from the official website. Admit card for GATE 2018 will be released on 5th January 2018. All the applicants of GATE have to carry that admit card to the examination hall on the day of exam. Any test taker without admit card will not be permitted to enter the examination hall.

GATE Result

After the successful completion of the exam authority will release the result. GATE 2018 Result will be declared on 17th March 2018. The result will be declared online and applicants can see their result on the official website. Only those candidates can download the scorecard who will qualify the exam. GATE Result 2018 will be valid for the three years from the date of its announcement.

GATE Cutoff

GATE Cutoff is declared by the exam conducting authority along with the result. The cutoff is the minimum marks that a candidate has to score to qualify the GATE exam. GATE 2018 cutoff will be released on the 17th March 2018 as the result will declared on the same date.

GATE Counselling

There is no common GATE Counselling for the qualifying candidates of the exam. To get the admission in M.Tech programs through GATE, candidates have to apply for individual Counselling conducted by participating institutes of GATE which are IITs, NITs, GFTIs, IISc Banglore etc. IITs will conduct Counselling through Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP).
