         <description><![CDATA[<p><br><br></p><p>A) The unit in relation to syllabus and curriculum</p><p><br></p><ol><li><p>It matches to the specifications of curriculum</p></li></ol><p><br><br></p><p>‘’3. Sınıf İngilizce Öğretim Programı, 2’nci sınıfta hedeflenen kazanımların üzerine kurulmuş olup, esas hedefi 2. Sınıf Öğretim Programı’nda yer alan konuların genişletilerek öğrencilerin İngilizceyi sınıf içi ve dışındaki ortamlarda kullanmalarını sağlamaktır. 3’üncü sınıfın kazanımlarını gerçekleştirmek için kullanılan temalar selamlaşma, aile ve akrabalık ilişkileri, duygular, oyunlar ve oyuncaklar, evin bölümleri, yaşanılan şehir, taşıtlar, hava durumu ve doğa olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu temalar aracılığıyla öğrencilerin günlük yaşamlarında önemli olan nesne, mekân ve varlıklarla ilgili temel sözcükleri İngilizcenin ses bilgisiyle ilişki kurarak öğrenmeleri hedeflenmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin temel işlevleri yerine getirebilmek için eğlenceli görsel, işitsel ve görsel-işitsel araçlar, zenginleştirilmiş oyun temelli etkinlikler aracılığıyla hedef dili kullanmaları planlanmıştır. Öğrencilerin dinleme ve konuşma becerilerini ağırlıklı olarak kullandığı iletişimsel bir yaklaşım benimsenmiştir. Bu iletişimsel yöntemler Program’a resimli sözlükleri kullanma, şarkı söyleme, boyama ve kesme yapıştırma gibi oyun temelli etkinliklerle yansıtılmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin hazırladıkları projeler ve ders dışı kısa, basit okuma-yazma etkinlikleriyle öğrendikleri dili üretim odaklı olarak kullanmaları amaçlanmıştır.’’</p><p><br><br></p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;-The Book does not correspond with the Turkish curriculum at all. There is not any specific unit corresponding with the topics that are included in Grade 3 Türkiye İngilizce Eğitim Programları.</p><p><br><br></p><p>B) Methodology</p><p><br></p><ol><li><p>The activities can be exploited fully and can embrace the various methodologies in Elt</p></li></ol><p><br></p><ul><li><p>They cannot, at unit 3 or as a whole book, there is not any listening activity, for the methodologies that require listening activity unit 3 and the book have not any use.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><ol start="2"><li><p>Activities can work well with methodologies in Elt</p></li></ol><p><br></p><ul><li><p>For some of them yes, but , for methodologies that are needing listening they will not work</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>C) Suitable to learners</p><p><br></p><ol><li><p>It is compatible to background knowledge and level of students</p></li></ol><p><br></p><ul><li><p>About background knowledge it is not, for example there is a question in unit three which is ‘’ Do you know that Mauritius is an island? ‘’. This knowledge should be beyond any grade 3 student. This book is definitely not appropriate for Turkish students.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><ol start="2"><li><p>It is culturally accessible to learners</p></li></ol><p><br></p><ul><li><p>It depends on which culture the students belong to who will use this coursebook. For Turkish students&nbsp; it is not.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><ol start="3"><li><p>It is compatible to the needs of students</p></li></ol><p><br></p><ul><li><p>It is not, students are in need of some listening activity also, this unit or book has not any.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><ol start="4"><li><p>It is compatible to the interests of students</p></li></ol><p><br></p><ul><li><p>Yeah maybe, the unit consists of some animal theme, a captain and ship, a lot of colour, foods and some other themes that can have some interest for childrens.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>D) Attractiveness of text and physical attributes</p><p><br></p><ol><li><p>cover is appeal</p></li></ol><ul><li><p>well , I do not think so, there is an irritating little child in cover. It is quite interesting how they manage to draw him that irritating and scary. You can see which one I am talking about at first glance just by looking at the cover.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><ol start="2"><li><p>The printing quality is high</p></li></ol><p><br></p><ul><li><p>It looks fine, not so special, not so bad, an ordinary quality</p></li></ul><p><br></p><ol start="3"><li><p>It indicates efficient use of text and visuals</p></li></ol><p><br></p><ul><li><p>I think page gapping is quite well, there is no problem at all</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>E) Supplementary exercises and materials</p><p><br></p><ol><li><p>The book is supported efficiently by essentials like audio materials.</p></li></ol><p><br></p><ul><li><p>Not, audio materials are the biggest weakness of the unit and the book.</p></li></ul><p><br></p>]]></description>
