What is CPR? It is, "Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving technique useful in many emergencies, including heart attack or near drowning, in which someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped" (9). Before you being CPR you should check, "Is the person conscious or unconscious? If the person appears unconscious, tap or shake his or her shoulder and ask loudly, 'Are you OK?'" (10). Since I am untrained I would do the following, "If you're not trained in CPR, then provide hands-only CPR. That means uninterrupted chest compressions of about 100 a minute until paramedics arrive. You don't need to try rescue breathing" (9).
The steps to follow for CPR are, CAB. Compression, Airway and Breathing.

I have a friend who is CPR certified but hasn't preformed it yet. She did see someone preform it in her class though. She said it was very informative and helpful to see it done in person rather than just seeing pictures of reading the procedures.
