While he was the king, the economy was out of money and they were making the commoners pay for the taxes. King Louis XVI was married to Marie Antoinette. 
The king had to move from Versailles to Paris, because they pushed him out of his power and 
he had to return to Paris. 
During 1789-1799, France deposed and executed King Louis XVI and set up a republic that dealt with substantial, internal, and external threats.

They confronted the King and Queen about the high bread prices, to then take them back to Paris as prisoners.
