Since I was on the debate team that looked at charter schools, I knew a lot of the information provided on the anticipation guide. My answers didnt change, but I think these three points are so crucial to make when discussing how charter schools fit in the education system. It is important to clarify how they differ from private schools and what they offer families in terms of education!

I have personal experience with charter schools and know the basics. I don't care for Charters and that has not changed. I do know that not all Charters are the same from others. I hope that Charters are held more accountable, and those that are performing well get more help to be successful.

My responses did not change, however it was interesting finding out more information about charter schools. I was also on the debate team that reviewed charter schools but I still learned some new facts. These three ideas were interesting to reflect on!

Being on the debate team for alternative education models, I was aware of this information, therefore, my answers did not change. Even though I knew the answers, I realized that those 3 points are misconceptions that a lot of people have, even I did before doing research. So for those that are not aware of charter schools, the information you mentioned would help clarify those questions and bring light to the mission of charter schools.

It did make me realize that those 3 points are critical to know about charter schools so that parents can be informed about their decision before they decide to put their child into a charter school.

My responses to the anticipation/reaction guide did not change. Although I am not a fan of charter schools, I do think it is important for us, as educators, to know this information so that we are able to make informed decisions on the issue. I also think it is important to present this information to parents and students who may be looking for alternative education options. Because, even though I do not like them, they may be the best option for some students.
