He was also the person who initiated the Spanish-American literary movement.(Also known as the modernismo). That flourished the end of the 19th century. Over the years,Rubén Darío made 22 poems. The pacific side is made up of Indian and Spanish. They are light skinned and speak Spanish. The coastal side is more Caribbean and are mixed with black. The costal people speak a form of creole and English. Until recently in the last 15 years, the costal "black" and pacific people are beginning to accept each other. The issues between the two sides of the country are comparable to the 60s in the US during the civil rights movement. In June 2013, many cities of Nicaragua began to protest. Why you may ask, because they were against the social security reforms decreed by the President Daniel Ortega. When Ortega increased the numbers of taxes and decrease the benefits, the people had enough and began to rebel. After a few days of unrest that almost killed thirty people, Ortega announced the cancellation of the reform. But since 2013, the opposition has grown and they want to denounce Ortega and demand his resignation. This has become the largest protest in his government's history. Also, it's the deadliest conflict since the end of Nicaragua's Revolution. So like I was saying earlier, there has been this problem in Nicaragua since 2013. It's because, Nicaragua is divided into 2 parts. The pacific and the costal. The music in the pacific is "El Gueguense Macho Ratón". In the Costal, Punta is from the Garifuna community. The dance and music is used for a festival called "Palo de Mayo". My step sister and brother participate in the festival every year. When we were there, we went to many natural attractions. One is called  the "Masaya Volcano". Another one, was "Chirst of Mercy" in San Juan del Sur. When we were going to see the statue, you had to hike 1000 steps. We also saw "The Granada Islets" which is 365 islands that were created from a volcanic eruption.
