This book list out role models that Muslimah youths can be inspired from! From Khadijah رضى الله عنها, Hajar and Sarah of Prophet Ibrahim's wives, to unbeknown women whom you may never heard of, but have secured a place in Jannah. You can take your time and reflect on these women one by one rather than rushing through the book. It's so much more impactful this way 💗 definitely a light read for those just trying to rejuvenate their Islamic knowledge and spirits.

beside of the romance element, this story is a heartfelt exploration of personal growth and emotional connection. The difference between Mawarti and Arif’s personalities makes me overwhelmed, mind blown, and makes me giggled in between my reading. I love the plot where they overcoming past wounds and learning to trust in love with sensitivity. I love this book as they remind me of the reality and help me deepen my thoughts in finding the true love where you will not feel abused or abandoned. This is my comfort book !

This short story might be a bit hard to read considering the writing style of the author, but it is unique and beautiful regardless. Added with how the author describes something so mundane yet so deeply that it makes you stop for a while to appreciate his genius, this is a very worthwhile read. I love how the nameless main character is so relatable and how he managed to say things I could never convey with my own words in this book, as if I am reading my own heart and thoughts. Give it a try, and you might find yourself pondering deeply about your life and how short it is.

have ever self-consciously too smart and intelligent until it make yourself in denial to have those advantages that YOU actually have been inherited from your ancestors??🤔🫠

WELL, here's a story about a highly-caliber assistant executive in a famous business company in Malaysia, Sofea who is so called as the most achieved worker, student and a beautiful mix lady. This storyline had slowly connected a curiosity to the reader makes me highly suspicious whether is she really got help to achieve all the winnings and goals from mystery organization or is it maybe she got them all by her effort? from a Malay folk perspective, we may thought she had make a deal with a so called 'bomoh' to perfects her journey, but as we move into another chapter, you may be shocked what has helped her all along physiologically. And for the romance lover here's the good news for you cause by the end of chapter, a co-main character, Danny a famous athlete who is her high school best friend completed the missing piece of Sofea's love life. Overall, make it as the first read in your reading-bucket list to face a bitter-sweet of this story because you're going to love itt :)))

The protagonist does not only suffer because of stereotypical women-hating machos (although they also feature in the text), but there's a whole web of factors, attitudes and implications that affect all characters differently, from the education system to the economic crisis, from conservative gender roles to questions of agency related to intersectional feminism.

Little Prince is one of the most famous children's books, though it's really a critique of adult society disguised as a children's story. When I first read it as a child, I understood only the literal meaning. But reading it again now, I see the deeper criticism of society. Interestingly, I’ve found that people fall into two categories with this book: either they’ve read it and know it well, or they’ve heard of it but never actually read it. If you belong to the second group, now is your time!

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder

What happens when you choose to do a murder mystery for an academia research in an insignificant small town? This novel for sure, which is now had also been adapted into a Netflix series! (although not without its small alterations am I right? 😔)

Pippa or Pip, is an all achiever student with a goal to do the impossible; crack back open an already solved case and prove that Sal Singh was not guilty of Andie Bell's murder. Perhaps this came from a bias, was Sal Singh really not the kind, cheerful big brother she had been looking up to this whole time? Or is there more to the case that people overlook just for the sake of "convenience"? If so, this means that the real murderer is still out there...

Overall review, quite the fun and thrilling read! I somewhat underestimated it to deliver at first glance but the story is done really nicely ~ It's pretty on par with another famous high school murder mystery, One of Us is Lying, minus the school drama and instead more about a girl who solved an old murder case on her own, #girlpower heheh

This book also felt like its dedicated to all-achiever girlies out there because man Pip is so relatable sometimes... except the part where she studies the dictionary because I personally don't loll

A high school novel is not without hints of romance if you are into it haha >_< Ravi Singh, Sal's younger brother is pretty charming and funny, bonus points on appearance if you have watched the Netflix series 🤣 He makes this journey it a little less boring, while not overshadowing Pip's own efforts to solve the case. Have a read, it's pretty fun ~ ☆

Imagine having a guy who accompanies you almost everywhere and you keep seeing him but others don't. Aya is a college student who can see a ghost-like guy named K which weirds her out initially. Eventually they form a friendship until K disappears from her life.

I'm so bad at giving reviews BUT this story left me gaping after I finished it. There's a lot more backstory to the mysterious K that is totally unexpected. It's quite fresh considering that romance is actually the central point of the story but the relationship between Aya and K is never going to work out because well, K is a ghost (at least that's what he was presented as at first).

And then comes the shocking revelations of who K really is and the ending is so satisfying because- minor (or not so minor) spoiler: Aya was pushed to marry someone and guess WHO she picks?! Yeah totally not the ghost-like guy she's still hung up on :3

Anyway, I read this like 5 years ago and I forgot half of the plot. But I still remember the jaw-dropping feeling after I finished the book. It stays with me until now so give it a read yall! 9.5/10

If you’re looking for a book that will hit you right in the feels, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini is a must-read. It’s about two women, Mariam and Laila, whose lives are forever changed by the chaos of Afghanistan’s war-torn history. It’s heartbreaking, but also incredibly uplifting to see how they find strength in each other through all the pain and loss.

What I love about it is how it shows the resilience of women, and how even in the darkest times, love and hope can shine through. Hosseini’s writing pulls you in from the first page, and you’ll be thinking about it long after you finish. If you’re into stories that are emotional, powerful, and real, this one will definitely stay with you.

The issue in Terusir revolves around the status of women and raises the topic of prostitution, which must be critically examined. Logically, women of that era dedicated their entire lives to their husbands. If the husband did not trust them, who else would defend them? This book is filled with wisdom and advice, portraying the reality of marriage, which is not only beautiful on the surface but also deeply weighted with the responsibilities of family life.

This book tells the story of Natrah, also known as Nadra Binti Ma'aruf or Huberdina Maria Hertogh, a Dutch girl adopted by a Malay mother, Che Aminah. Natrah's name became famous due to a custody battle between her Malay adoptive mother and her biological parents in the Netherlands. The case gained international attention after Natrah, at 13, married Mansor Adabi under Islamic law, but the case was later tried under English civil law. The controversy led to a violent riot in Singapore over attempts to Christianize her and defend Islam.

This book retells the story to complete Natrah's biography, inform new readers, honor those who defended religion and opposed colonialism, and inspire love for religion, nation, and homeland.

Kafe Purnama Bayu by Haninay

8.5/10

I really enjoyed Kafe Purnama Bayu by Haninay. The story is so emotional and heartfelt, and I loved how it dealt with themes like love, family struggles, and personal growth. The writing is beautiful and poetic, and the setting of the cafe felt so cozy and welcoming. It almost felt like a character in itself! The characters were super relatable, and I found myself really connecting with their journeys. I think the cultural aspects of the book also made it special, especially for Malaysian readers, because it really captured the local traditions and family dynamics well. That said, I do think the pacing was a bit slow at times, especially since the focus is more on character development than action. The story is also kind of predictable, so if you're looking for something with lots of twists and turns, this might not be for you. Some parts felt a bit too sentimental for my taste, and I wish certain storylines were explored a little more. But overall, I really liked it, it’s a great read if you enjoy emotional, character-driven stories with a nice touch of local culture.

The Picture of Dorian Gray

A dark academia classic! It's dark, uncanny and a little witty. Anyone who has read this Oscar Wilde's piece would agree how gripping is the story. A short read to pass time. The story follows a charming and handsome young man named Dorian Gray, who had his self-portrait painted. And the portrait... well let's say it is definitely something! Can't spoil it too much! And the ending was so climatic! You become impatient to know what is happening and why do I have so many unanswered questions! *Sigh*. I wish I can forget this story just to feel that reading adrenaline rush again 😔
