Additionally, a good design shouldn’t be afraid to break pre convinced ideas or boundaries set by society or the design industry as it will only hold them back.

This statement of identity portrayed through such bright colours inspires me as a trans person myself, but also as an artist. His understanding of creative realism and colour theory is impressive, and all of his portraits look stunning.

For his work on Lake and Reservoirs, he captures his desired lake, and then later comes back and submerges the image into the water from the lake he captured. He has many other different works, but this is my favourite as it is so unique and creative.

I think a good design is something that is well planned, unique and limitless. In order to make a good design, i would say you have to test, correct and always double check.

With this in mind, I have chosen the impressionist, Claude Monet because I have been aware of his work for some time. Monet’s work appeals to me because he uses a muted colour palette, which I find very calming and soothing.The broad expressive brush strokes give his work a very subdued quality which I like. Also,his subject matter is of “everyday” places and situations, which I can relate to easily. I particularly like this piece (which is entitled “Madame Monet and Child) because it reminds me of my childhood. It should be easy to see and make out on the page, even if the actual concept is abstract.
