"Lucien Pisarro" is a woodcut in late 19th century. It describes the scene that gleaners are working in the field. The main body is the gleaner in the center of the picture, who is most detailed. 


The foreground of the pating  is gleaner in the field; while the back ground of the pating could be the small mountains or clouds in the horizon. Especially, in the artwork, most objects are creating in positive .

The author used smooth and fine tone to descripe the scene of the baptism of saints. Throughout the printmaking, lines and shapes show a smoother touch than sketching. This style of printing reflects more details and creats a sense of vivid to auidence. In the background side, there are few villages, a high mountain and gods in the sky. In the foreground, sages are praying on the grass ground.

“Wild Rose and Irises”is a watercolor painting made by a famous  artist ----John La Farge in1887.

John La Farge, an American painter, muralist, and stained-glass designer. He was famous for his stained glass artworks.

From the first obeservation of the painting, we can see John uses a lot of skill that comes from oil painting and some similarities to his stained glass work. At that time, he preferred to capture their essence rather than to pursue scientific accuracy. It doesn't fit the accuracy in 3D space but it spreads a sense of unique beauty from the color and shape. As an astute critic remarked, "His flowers have no botanical truth, but are burning with love and beauty."
