Suprisingly, one day before writing a short test at school, my classmates told me, that they hadn't even started reading (!). On the other side, not only have I found this set text really fascinating, but also quite engrossing. In addition to that, the characters are skillfully portrayed and the suspense builds up rapidly before the ending. One example of such a book is 'Dziady' - a stunning romantic drama written by Adam Mickiewicz. The plot is set in the 19th century and revolves around Poles dealing with Russian occupation as the author portrayes fervent young men fighting for freedom led by charismatic poet - Kordian and aristocracy trying to live comfortable lives. Apart from this we get exposed to supernatural powers such as angels and devils engaging in humans' lives and conflicts. For this reason not only does the story become incredibely engrossing, but it also provokes the readers to rethink their own stories. Furthermore the dialogs are trully emotional - full of sarcasm, tears or laughter. This book is very well known in Poland, some statistics even claim that almost 90% of polish households have at least one copy of it. It's regarded as a true masterpiece and I do see why. Pan Tadeusz is an epic poem written in Polish alexandrines, which is a testament to the skill of its author. This may lead some to think that the book can only be enjoyed by a well-read audience, but that cannot be further from the truth! The book can be enjoyed by everyone due to the omnipresent conversations, which are full of old polish words put together in an incredibly clever way - sometimes you just can't help but smile while turning the pages. Not only is it very pleasant to read but it also carries much meaning and provokes much thought. Even though the book may seem long for many students it's definetely a great read that can captivate even the most reluctant reader. Their opinion may be justified, since/Seemingly, their opinion is due to the fact that their students do not think outside the box when it comes to essays and their interpretations seem to be slightly repetitive. However, I would hazard a guess that young people can appreciate books such as Pan Tadeusz despite vivid, but still old fashioned language and slow going action. The Mickiewicz's classic may depict the life of 19th century society, but skillfully portrayed characters sheds light on mentality of those people. It has compeliing story withy large number of reletable characters while the plot isn’t slow going, so you will nerver be bored while reading it. Moreover the world created by Tolkien is absouletly enormous with different fantasy creatures inhabiting it, he even created whole languages and cultures for them. Not only does the story deal with many important topics and surely can teach you a lot, while also being great adventure, with many plot twists and great characters.

The latest set book I had the opportunity to read was “Pan Tadeusz” written by Adam Mickiewicz. Not only is it considered one of the greatest masterpieces of Polish literature, but also you can find it in every Polish household. What really got me confused is that protagonist isn't title character - Tadeusz Soplica, but priest Robak. This well written book which tells the story about the fate of families inhabiting Soplicowo. This page turner  helped me realize how noble society lived. Despite the fact that at one point the text is hard to comprehend due to outdated language, I find it fascinating. It is a classic example of a book that has turned out to be a real winner among both kids and adults. In the nutshell it is a profound and poetic tale, the story is a philosophical one and through its social criticism of the adult world, reminds its readers that we were all children once. With a timeless charm it tells the story of a little boy who leaves the safety of his own tiny planet to travel the universe, learning the vagaries of adult behaviour through a series of extraordinary encounters. I can see the story as an allegory that leads us to the moral of the story, therefore I can truely recommend this book as it is not only a truely nail-biting story with a great plot but also the author’s message can be interpreted in many different ways, depending on the age of a reader.

King Oedipus is an ancient Greek tragedy about a crisis of a mythical chracter which is the titular king. Even though the book is set in a presumably mythical world the events and characters are all grounded in reality which helps to highten the tragedy of the situation. The fact that the book is an ancient tragedy does not only show in the story, but also in the structure of the book. It's pretty much all dialogue. It's a script to be preformed on stage by actors for an audience to see. Many people have wrong assumptions about this book saying it's dull and that it doesn't live up to it's hype. I think that's not true. It's not a nail-biting, fast-paced sci-fi novel, but likewise science fiction it has a very unexpected ending and a lot of twists to the story. What's more it realy stimulates your imagination as the settings and backgrounds are skilfully portrayes with vivid language. On the predictable side it gets a bit boring sometimes due to the vast descriptions of nature, it can still remain inspiring. Suprisingly "Pan Tadeusz" portrays a lot of humourous situations.
Many of the characters reflect negative human traits making them relatable to our older family members for example. Additionally, it's full of highly moving moments that are sure to bring one to tears. A a result, no one would call C.S. It is a romantic drama revolving around a spiritual transformation of the title protagonist. Even though the text is divided into multiple scenes it is fast- paced and fascinating. Once you get your hands on that book you won't be able to put it down. I am still astonished by its insightfulness and how gripping it is. Additionally, It really is thought- provoking. It's mysterial atmosphere is what made the greatest impression on me. I had the displeasure of reading it without any context and under the pressure to complete and understand it in a short amount of time. However, after coming back to it after dozens of hours of interpretation, I could begin to understand the real genius of Mickiewicz's work. The themes presented seem universal and the allegories used are simply ingenious. In a nutshell, it's a brilliantly written book, all the same incredibly complex and too difficult to read.

This book also has unusual mood as one time the reader laughs because of the funny scene but the other time he's on the edge of his seat as the suspense builds up. It is a play written by Polish romantic poet Zygmunt Krasiński  in 1833, published anonymously in 1835. Its main theme is sociopolitical conflict. The plot consists of beautifully written descriptions and dramatical events which helps in getting engrossed in the story. The protagonist is Count Henry (Husband). Whole book consists of chapters. In chapter one and two, we can find out about the personal life of the main character,  whereas in chapters three and four we are getting information about his participation in social and historical events. Henry represents aristocracy , while Pankracy (who is one of the drama's character), is the leader of the revolutinary camp, eager to seize the power and pursue his own plans. Revolution according to Count Henry, is ,,all the old crimes of the world dressed in fresh garments"; it is unable to introduce a new order - only to changes roles. In part 4, two camps clash. The aristocrats turn out to be cowardly and selfish. They are judged by triumphat revolutionaries. It is then that the vision of Christ appears to their leaders. Pankracy dies after saying the words: ,,Galilean, you have conquered!" This imaginative story, not only has a moral lesson, but also appeals to the emotions. The plot is set in 19th century in occupied Poland. Reader should know some historical context to understand convoluted plot and feelings of characters. Not only had Adam Mickiewicz showed 19th century history but also struggle of Poles under Russian occupation.
