Their first form of communication is crying ,bubbling, and by the end of the first year simple words which they hear from caregivers .Breast milk or formula is the main food and solid foods are introduced thereafter.Infants smear food on themselves while eating They like familiar voices and faces.Their healthcare needs include :Vaccinations,check ups on weight and height. Their play is mostly sensory and their physical abilities includes:lifting head,moving arms and legs.

Toddlers use single words at first,then short phrases and sentences which are learnt from their guardians,siblings and caregivers.They also use gestures.

They eat 3 meals and some snacks per day and they like self feeding.They have preferences to food.

Toddlers like imitating adults .They get angry When unable to do something and they express their frustrations with tantrums.

Most will take one nap during the day and may at times fail to sleep.

Their play is active and they are still learning to play with other toddlers.

They are able to walk ,push,pull toys,scribble with crayons,climb ,,turn pages of books and they like dressing themselves.

Pre schoolers use complete sentences with more words and they can tell short stories and ask many questions.

They eat 3 meals and snacks,although they are picky on food.

They like playing with friends,to be praised and attention.They don’t like too many rules.

Most stop daytime naps.

Their play is a bit organized.

They can run smoothly, climb, hop on one foot,throw or catch a ball and they can do self care like dressing, brushing their teeth and using a toilet.
