         <description><![CDATA[<div>What is my definition of speed? My definition of speed (in a physical sense) is how fast you can run and how long can you maintain said speed. So, in other words, top speed and how long that speed can be maintained before it starts to fall. But for sports that don't involve running reaction time also matters which is also a form of speed.<br><br>2. Why is speed important in sports? Speed is important because if you can't react fast enough than you will likely miss opportunities or openings where you could do something major like run through a clear-cut opening in the enemy's defence. You need to be able to react fast enough to understand where you stand and what you can do and be able to have the speed to accomplish what you are trying to do.<br><br>3. What is one exercise you can routinely perform to improve your overall speed? The only exercise I can think of is running up and  down the stairs after school is over.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I would define speed as how fast something or someone is moving or how fast you react to something. Speed is important in sports because you are competing against others and need to be moving fast. For example, in soccer if you are on attack and someone plays you in on a through ball you are competing with someone on their backline to get to the ball first. Or if you are defending and someone plays a  ball through and you miss it you have to get back fast and recover the ball. Also, you have to move the ball quickly so you don't lose the ball.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>1. </strong>After reading through the slides and watching a couple of videos, I would define speed as <strong>the ability to execute any variation of movement in as little reaction time as possible and with as much maximum velocity your body can exert at a time.&nbsp;<br><br>2.&nbsp;</strong>Speed is important in sports because it is key to&nbsp;<strong>be as fast and efficient as possible</strong> in certain athletic games or competitions<strong>. </strong>Having a proficient amount of speed will <strong>assist you in sports that demand skillful, agile, and rapid movements in any and all necessary directions when participating in them.&nbsp;</strong>This could apply to a wide range of court-based sports, field sports, and water sports where <strong>speed can really distinguish you from your competitors.&nbsp;<br><br>3.&nbsp;</strong>One exercise you can perform routinely to improve your overall speed is by performing <strong>dead lifts.&nbsp;</strong>This exercise may not utilize the common motions associated with running, but dead lifting actually <strong>builds strength and mass in a person's lower body or core. </strong>It also <strong>helps your body build the force it requires to push off against the ground as you run.</strong></div>]]></description>
