George and Lennie have a dream once they make enough money to buy this house and Lennie will tend the rabbits. Everything is going good for the two. Lennie is happy. Lennie has a puppy and everything is just dandy. Then one day Lennie is playing in the barn with his puppy and he kills it. Being so scared that George won't let him tend the rabbits he hides it. Then Curley's wife comes into the barn, to talk with Lennie. She's talking to Lennie and asks Lennie to pet her hair, since he likes things that are soft. Eventually she yells at him to stop, which scares him. She freaks out because he won't let go, and he breaks her neck. Lennie runs away. George find out and knows what he has to do. He has to kill Lennie before Curley gets to Lennie. She's lonely, and just wants a friend, but no one wants to be her friend because of her protective husband.  She was the one who made Lennie touch her hair and it's kind of her fault that Lennie killed her. I feel her motivation were to be part of something and be close to someone, but got too close to someone.
