The place where I ate black chicken

By:LeeJiaMing

The famous Korean black chicken style dish surprisingly taste like any other normal chicken would. It was a little disappointing for me because I thought it would some what taste a little different. I was hopping for a taste of Surprise maybe something like alcohol but no, is just a old bland normal chicken.

The most disappointing there is the service. They were very disrespectful to my family even if it was their mistake, they blame it on my parent even the other waiter said that it was their own mistake. But she still ignored her insisted that she was right, but in the end We still didn’t get any kind of apology.

After we finish eating And we were leaving they were still saying very mean thing to my family, but lucky no physical action was taken. Atless we know not to ever go to that place to eat again. They are one of the most unprofessional waitresses I have ever met in my live.

A advice from me to you don’t go to that place and eat. You most likely to be treated by the same as us. Cause they think that we were from China even though they were form China. They didn’t say anything about us being from China but you can feel the disrespect from them, they were treating us very different from the other customers, you will feel they are looking down on us if you are in our positions, they they are speaking to us is so unbelievably rude the tone and manner cutting us off while we are half way talking.

They should really go back to kindergarten and learn some respect and maybe some manner if they can but they will most likely fail since there are empty minded individuals That have probably never accomplished anything cause they are smart individuals inbrit.

My Experience With Planes

Touchdown! From a child or teenager’s viewpoint, glimpsing a plane in action may seem like a miracle. It’s astonishing to understand the laws of aerodynamics and how it apparently ‘defies the laws of physics’.

It is no surprise to me that one would go to the field of aerodynamics, as I always have a dearest ambition of becoming a pilot or engineer, whichever of those would be my cup of tea.

In this blog, I will be sharing with you my experience with planes from different mindsets while growing up- some amusing, or likewise, uncomfortable. I have travelled in almost all types of common planes, each with different encounters.

It all started about the age of two, and like all toddlers, I screamed, thrashed and made a huge fuss. I travelled along with my family, and as having two older brothers, my parents expected this. No doubt passengers complained about my unruly behaviour, but other than acting in such manner I have no further recollection of anything else (I do remember going into a peaceful slumber after the episode, I hope it was a relief to my fellow passenger mates). This trip was on the Boeing 747-400, heading to Australia.

Moving onward, as a young boy of seven, my family and I went on another trip to Guangzhou, China. The trip was much more peaceful, but involved fighting over seats and pointing out every movement of the plane- the flaps coming down, flight attendants scurrying about, the plane taxiing down the runway, announcements made, and the take-off. I was, of course, fascinated by the myriad of activities. This time, I was much more aware of my surroundings, not just comprehending the fact that I was in some space rocket gizmo.

Curiously enough, I coped through the flight although going through the happenings of an ‘ear block’, of which I panicked because I imagined myself going deaf. Nonetheless, travelling by air for the first time in 5 years triggered some side effects including air sickness and vomiting.

Returning to Malaysia was far more luxurious, as we took the Airbus A380 back home. The plane was a thing of a beauty and power, therefore the flight back was much smoother.

The next two overseas trips was to Bangkok and Taipei, both which I rode the Boeing 737-800. Being cramped up in an awkward position for the whole flight was tiresome, but at least they were kind enough to provide us with mini TVs as well as a headset.

Last year, which was quite recent, I travelled abroad to Colombo, Sri Lanka. We flew in a Boeing 737-800. The seating arrangements were still confined, howbeit I still enjoyed the journey. I appreciated some of the fellow Sri Lankan passengers, who gratefully swapped seats such that my parents sat closer to me. Owing to the two and a half hour time difference between Malaysia and Sri Lanka, I did not sleep for a day (yes, 24 hours straight).

Thus, this trip to Colombo closed the chapter of my past experiences with planes, and hopefully there are more to come. I am thankful for having these opportunities to travel by air.

Furthermore, I am looking forward to the future of transport in the means of planes. However, time will tell where this continuous development will go.

Posted by,
Brandon Hah.

Trip to Penang

It's been a year since the last trip. Fortunately , I went to Penang with my family members last school holidays.

Along the boring road , I had little fun with my cousins since we were playing some mobile games (pubg) . As the time flies, we almost reached our destination, my father decided went to Penang by ferry instead of bridge. Once I came out from car , I felt windy but the sea water smell stinky .

As one of the best restaurant in Penang,7 noodles house doesn't disappoint us.
It's broth-based soup noodles, koay teow th’ng, served with meatball, minced pork, beansprouts, and fried garlic provides us a delicious flavor which I never try before. Besides that, I also recommended the lor bak, a pork-and-onion roll wrapped in beancurd and served with their special chili sauce. It's only cost Rm30 or lesser which is very reasonable.

After a nice meal , my father decided to visit the Kek Lok Si temple . We saw a huge statue of goddess Guan Yin on the hill. I also saw a crowd of visitors taking photos. As my grandmother is a sincere prayer, she make a donation to the temple.

Later , my father fetched us to Georgetown for lunch. We ate fried koay teow , Asam Laksa and Cendol. Having a bowl of Cendol in the summer is the best things ever because it can release heat from my body.

After that , we back to hotel for a rest . I suggested to go swimming. Since it is a hot day, so there had many people in the pool.

We went to Gurney Drive for our dinner . There were variety of food to choose. After dinner , my mom went to Gurney Mall for her shopping spree.

The next day, we visited my mother favourite spot snake temple. There are many species of snake in the temple. My mom and i were holding the Yellow Python and take photo. Although i felt afraid, but i tried to conquer my fear. At the same time, i felt my mum is trembling from head to toes.

Lastly , we had our lunch at Batu Kawan Seafood Villages. The foo are very fresh and delicious. After lunch, we started our journey back to Kuala Lumpur. This time , we were using the bridge to go back. The bridge is so long and huge . It is a different scenery compare to travel by ferry.

In these two days , I felt very happy and relaxed. I hope that i can visit Penang in the future.

Fostering Animals

Animals, the beings that live with us on the beautiful planet we call Earth.
Most animals, live in their habitats like forests, but some people are cutting down their habitats and making the animals flee or even worse, die. There are good people that want these things to stop and so they fight for the animals, you could be one of these people, like a veterinarian or just be able to donate to a local animal shelter.
Or you could be a foster parent, which is what I'm going to talk about in this blog. Fostering animals, is a big decision since you have to take full responsibility and to take care of this being. Fostering is also good for multiple reasons, first is that it will reduces overcrowding in shelters and lets more space to be used for other animals. You will be also be preparing an animal for adoption, well that is if the animal has fully recovered.
Being a foster parent doesn't mean you're getting paid and you need to get the food and toys for the animal but most shelters already will lend you the food and toys for you. Unless you got a special animal like a pregnant animal or an animal that needs surgery. Then your wallet needs to step in. Don't forget, all this helps the animal live a happy life.
Fostering is one of the most rewarding experiences you could have, if you don't want to be a foster parent, you can join an Animal Rescue Group that well, rescues animals! After rescuing an animal, bring it to the vet and if you want, foster it! And if you are fostering an animal right now, I believe in you, don't lose hope!

Thank you for reading! Hope this helps!
By: Aidan Kong

By Clement low

HISTORY OF THE ODYSSEY
The Odyssey which is, in part , a sequel to the Iliad was written by a poet named Homer. It is believed to have been written near the end of the 8th century BC and is also considered the second-oldest work in Western literature (The first being the Iliad).

WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT
The Odyssey is about the Greek hero Odysseus and his journey back to his hometown of Ithaca, his lovely wife Penelope and his son talamachus after the fall of Troy.

(SIDE NOTE: Odysseus took 10 years to complete a journey that would have only taken him around ten days to finish on foot and maybe a bit longer by sea
Just because the gods tried to make it as hard as godly possible for him to get home.)

THE START OF A VERY LONG JOURNEY
The book starts with our protagonist, Odysseus, marooned on the island of Ogygia, imprisoned by the gorgeous nymph, Calypso. The gods then intervened compelling Calypso to let him leave. He was then thrown into a storm by Poseidon who had a grudge on him for blinding Polyphemus, the Cyclops.
However the goddess Ino gave him a veil which would protect him from drowning after his raft was destroyed.

(SIDE NOTE: Polyphemus is a son of Posiedon.)

After that whole debacle he found himself on Scheria, the island of the Phaeacians where he then made his way inland to rest in the cover of the forest.

That night, Athena(The god of wisdom warfare and handicrafts) disguised as a friend of the Phaeacian princess, Nausicaa, told her to go to the forest the next morning to wash her clothes so that she would be more fetching for the many men courting her. As planned, Nausicaa met Odysseus and brought him to her parents, King Alcinous and Queen Arete.

Odysseus then told the king and queen about all the things that had happened since he started his journey from Troy. After the king had heard Odysseus's story he arranged for a ship with many fine treasures to send him back to Ithaca.

(SIDE NOTE: During Odysseus's absence many suitors gathered in his house to court his wife Penelope and despite his sons and wife's request they would not leave. They had also started partying in his house.)

Back at Ithaca Odysseus met Telemachus and after a bit of bonding they both proceeded to slaughter every last one of them. Then, after years of waiting, Odysseus had finally been reunited with his wife.

Reign of Godzilla, King of the Monsters

The Godzilla franchise is the longest running movie franchises to date, spawning movies, spin offs, video games, novels ,and even comics. The Big G has been stomping around for the past sixty five years and will likely keep going. Godzilla as it stands is one of the most famous movie monsters, even owning a star at the Hollywood walk of fame. But how Godzilla came to be, is as interesting as can be.

Godzilla is called Gojira in Japanese, which is a combination of the two words Gorira, meaning gorilla and Kujira, meaning whale. The whale part representing Godzilla’s aquatic lifestyle while the gorilla part represents his sheer strength. Godzilla has also fought characters from other franchises in crossover media, such as the RKO Pictures/Universal Studios movie monster King Kong and Marvel Comics characters from S.H.I.E.L.D., the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. As well as a cameo in the 2007 drama film Always Sunset on 3rd street 2.

With the events of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasakand the Lucky Dragon 5 incident, Godzilla was created as a metaphor and as a reminder for nuclear weapons. Godzilla’s skin was made to look like those of the nuke survivors and could harness a breath of nuclear energy dubbed the atomic breath. Godzilla also emits radiation as he passes through.

The Godzilla films had three main eras in which Godzilla movies were made, the Showa Era, the Hesei era, and the millennium era. The Showa era started off dark and gritty, but got eventually geared towards children which slowly caused Toho, the company that made these movies, to go broke. It was all meant to end with Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters. But due to the amount of money the film made. Toho rebooted the series with the Hesei Era.

The Heisei Era went back to its true origins, starting being more darker but a little brighter for children. The Heisei era meant to end the franchise Once and for all. But due to the TriStar remake of the Godzilla film in 1998. Toho started the Godzilla franchise to earn back reputation for Godzilla’s name and thus spawning the millennium series which ended with Godzilla Final Wars in 2004.

In 2014, America gained the right to make their own Godzilla movies again and made Godzilla in 2014. Which will be followed by Godzilla King of the Monsters later this year and eventually, Godzilla versus Kong in 2020. However, when the license agreement between Toho and Legendary Pictures ends, Toho will reboot the Godzilla series again in 2021, which leaves room for more to come for Godzilla, King of All Monsters.

———————————————

It was a pleasant surprise and honour to be chosen to take part in the HP ABRSM competition 🥰 . With the help of my teacher, we have picked a suitable piece-Sonata Detta “Sonata Paterica” dedicate al Principe Carlo von Lichnowsky Op.13, which was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. However it has 26 pages 😱 , but since I like the song very much, I accepted the ‘devil training’ 😈😈 launch by my teacher.

Now I have practised until pg 20 👼 , and I feel that there’s a long way 😔 to go. The piece is a very lively one. It starts with a very grave 🐢 (Italian music term: slow) articulation, and quickly changes to Allegro molte e con brio 🐰 (fierce ,fast speed). In the middle, the song gradually changes to Allegro, which is slower then Allegro molte e con brio. It ends with an Allegro tempo at last.

Beside the scores which are difficult to play and to memorize, I have a greater challenge which is my expression 🧐 , I guess I need to do some research in why Beethoven wrote the piece in this manner so I can put in the proper expression for this grand piece. 🎵💕
