Her kidnapper, Collin, traps her in a cellar which is similar to a mini apartment. Down there, three other girls are held captive: Rose, Poppy, and Violet. Collin is a germ freak and has severe OCD. He has a weird obsession with flowers so he name all the girls after different flowers. Summer is renamed Lily. Collin kidnaps the girls because he wants the "perfect" family he never had. After Summer is trapped in the cellar for about six months, the police finally catch Collin with the help of Summer's boyfriend and brother. Lewis- He is Summer's boyfriend and is absolutely head over heels for her. Lewis meets Summer through his best friend who also happens to be Summer's brother. The minute Summer goes missing, Lewis doesn't rest until he finds her.

Collin- (aka Clover) He is the kidnapper of Lily(Summer), Rose, Poppy, and Violet. Collin takes the girls because he wants the perfect family he never had. He keeps her captive in a cellar with three other girls. Summer is there for about six months until the police finally realize all the evidence traces back to Collin. Collin is arrested and the girls are rescued.

Conflict #2 (person vs society)- Lewis doesn't feel like the police are doing enough to find Summer. He decides to get the community together and start his own search party. Collin actually ends up joining this search party to make sure they aren't  getting close to anything that will lead back to him. In the end, they find the girls and arrest Collin.

Conflict #3 (person vs person)- Since Lewis is always doing everything he can to find Summer, he doesn't get much rest. His mother was concerned because he isn't eating or sleeping. I really liked this book but it was a little dark at points.
