World War II permanently changed the world in countless ways. Although battles, invasions, and blitzes are commonly noted, the political atmosphere prior to, during, and after World War II forever altered global politics, solidified relations, and forged geographic boundaries which carry on to the modern day, not to mention the effects it had on countless people involved directly or indirectly in the war effort. There are so many dimensions and perspectives regarding World War II that it makes it a fascinating subject to study as well as teach.

For my first live football game, I traveled to Pittsburgh to watch the Steelers beat the Bengals 30-20 on Sunday Night Football in 2013. With wind chill, the temperature outside was around -10, so most people left early. At the end of the game, we went down to the front and as the players made their way off the field, Troy Polamalu handed me his game glove. My sister snapped this picture at the perfect moment.

In my spare time, I enjoy digging through crumbling cardboard boxes and dusty crates in search of classic records. My current collection is somewhere over 100 vinyls, mostly 33's with a couple 45's thrown in for good measure.
