After the second meeting “Enhancing listening with AI tools” of the seminar “Applying AI tools in classroom” I have gained one more great package of knowledge and have been provided with the opportunity various tools to be practiced.

One of them Helperbird which is irreplaceable if your goal is to improve pronunciation, enriching vocabulary having the translation even into native language, getting familiar with the parts of speech, encouraging independent listening skills and grammar awareness.

To continue, Suno is for music creation for engagement, fostering creativity into the lesson and quite amusing way to have not a boring lesson for both students and teacher. I have not tried yet, but during the meeting this tool while being presented how it works definitely made the atmosphere very amusing ;) But I promise I will try it too as it is really worth it.

The one I liked most this moment was Brisk teaching as I need to prepare audiovisual tasks for students to improve before state exam part I, it is really time-saving tool for the teacher and benefit for students with appropriate task type to have practice. The essential requirement is that your chosen video must have transcript. Then, you spend a couple of minutes to have video and post watching video task done.

Each meeting is so rich with the variety of tools to have been presented, and each time I cannot stop admiring the lecturer’s Joe input to gather so much to be shared to make teacher’s daily routine more comfortable and lessons more engaging.

I found this webinar incredibly useful. As an older teacher who has never used AI tools before, I initially felt apprehensive about the topic. However, the webinar was structured in a way that made it accessible, even for beginners like me.

The presentation was well-organized and informative. The introduction of a variety of AI tools that can enhance listening skills in the classroom, providing practical demonstrations and real-life applications. Some of the most interesting and useful for me:Suno is a tool that can generate music and speech, which is useful for listening practice. Perplexity is an AI tol that answers questions and explains difficult topics in a simple way.

While there was a lot of information to absorb, lecturer was very patient and took the time to explain concepts clearly. One of the aspects I appreciated most was his willingness to repeat key points when needed. This made it easier to follow along and reduced the feeling of being overwhelmed.

Another highlight of the webinar was the availability of recordings. Having access to them allows me to revisit the content at my own pace, reinforcing my understanding and giving me the confidence to experiment with these tools in my teaching.

Among the different AI tools presented, I found Suno particularly impressive. The ability to create songs using AI is fascinating, and I can see great potential for engaging students in a fun and interactive way. Music is a powerful tool for language learning, and Suno makes it even more accessible.

Overall, this webinar was a valuable learning experience. It has encouraged me to start exploring AI.Thank you.

Among the tools I engaged with last session, Magic Padlet, Suno, Brisk, Vidnoz, and Turboscribe stood out for their unique applications in education, communication, and content creation. While each tool serves a different purpose, integrating them into a cohesive workflow was both exciting and challenging.

Magic Padlet was particularly useful in structuring lesson plans and classroom activities. The AI-generated boards helped organize discussions, create reading lists, and even set up listening exercises. Its ability to incorporate multimedia elements like audio recordings and videos made it an interactive and engaging tool. However, its AI-generated content sometimes required fine-tuning to align with specific learning objectives.

Suno, an AI-driven music generator, was an intriguing tool to experiment with. It allowed for the creation of background music that could enhance presentations or serve as ambient sound in classrooms. While it was fun to use, its practical application in education felt somewhat limited unless tailored specifically for music or creative arts lessons.

Brisk proved to be a valuable asset for grading and feedback automation. The ability to analyze student submissions and provide AI-generated feedback streamlined the assessment process. However, I noticed that the feedback, while efficient, often lacked the depth and nuance of human evaluation. This meant that while Brisk could save time, it still required teacher intervention to ensure meaningful feedback.

Vidnoz was particularly effective for video creation and AI-generated avatars. It provided an accessible way to create instructional videos without requiring professional recording equipment. The ability to customize avatars and scripts was helpful, especially for asynchronous learning. Despite this, the AI-generated voices sometimes felt unnatural, which could affect student engagement.

Turboscribe was one of the most practical tools for transcription and note-taking. It efficiently converted spoken language into text, making it easier to document lessons, meetings, and interviews. This tool was particularly useful for accessibility, benefiting students who struggle with note-taking. However, the accuracy of transcriptions varied based on audio quality and speaker clarity.

Overall, working with these tools has highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of AI in education. While they significantly improve efficiency and creativity, they still require human oversight to ensure quality and meaningful interaction. Integrating these tools effectively can enhance teaching and learning experiences, but they should be seen as assistants rather than replacements for traditional methods.

Reflection on AI Tools in Education

Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the education landscape in profound ways. It has introduced efficiency, accessibility, and personalized learning opportunities that were previously unimaginable. AI-powered tools such as adaptive learning platforms, automated grading systems, and intelligent tutoring programs are revolutionizing how students learn and how teachers manage their workload. While these innovations offer numerous benefits, they also bring challenges that need to be carefully considered.

One of the most significant advantages of AI in education is its ability to personalize learning. Traditional classroom settings often struggle to accommodate the diverse learning styles and paces of students. AI-driven platforms can analyze student performance and tailor lessons accordingly, ensuring that each learner gets the support they need. This adaptive approach enhances engagement and improves learning outcomes by allowing students to move at their own pace.

Another major benefit is automation. AI can take over repetitive tasks like grading assignments and quizzes, giving teachers more time to focus on student interaction and creative teaching methods. AI-driven chatbots and virtual assistants can provide instant feedback, answer students’ questions, and even assist in language learning. This kind of technology makes education more accessible, especially for students in remote areas who may not have immediate access to teachers.

However, the increasing presence of AI in education also raises important ethical concerns. Data privacy is one of the primary issues. AI systems collect and analyze vast amounts of student data, which raises questions about how this data is stored, used, and protected. Without strict regulations, there is a risk that sensitive student information could be misused. Additionally, there is the concern of reduced human interaction. While AI can provide efficient solutions, it cannot replace the emotional intelligence, empathy, and mentorship that human teachers offer. Education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it is also about developing social skills, critical thinking, and creativity—areas where human teachers play a crucial role.

Another challenge is the potential for AI to deepen educational inequalities. Not all schools have the same access to advanced technology, and students from underprivileged backgrounds may be left behind if AI becomes a dominant force in education. Ensuring equal access to AI-powered tools is essential to prevent further disparities in education quality.

In conclusion, AI has the potential to significantly enhance education, making learning more personalized, efficient, and accessible. However, it is essential to address the ethical concerns and limitations that come with its use. AI should be seen as a tool to support teachers, not replace them. Striking the right balance between technology and human interaction will be key to ensuring that AI serves as an asset rather than a disruption in education. As AI continues to evolve, educators, policymakers, and technology developers must work together to create a future where technology enhances, rather than diminishes, the quality of learning
