A null hypothesis is a hypothesis that states theres no connection between the variables and the results are from a chance. Genetic drift is when there is a change in allele frequency by chance while natural selection is done because of a change in the environment. Population bottle neck is when some of the species survive a random event while founders is when some of the population go to a new area to populate. They both have the same effect.

A null hypothesis is when you predict that there will be no change in the results of an experiment. The difference between genetic drift and natural selection is that genetic drfit is random and results in a change in allele frequenices. The results of genetic drift is a loss of variation. Natural selection is a natural process in which the animals who have not been able to evolve, breed, or survive start getting weeded out. Genetic drift also is different because it results into other alternatives like population bottleneck and founder effect. Population bottleneck occurs when only a few individuals survive a random event. The founder effect is when a few pioneer individuals from a species decide to move and migrate from their environment there is going to be a change in the genetic variation of the species.
