Kingly-  As the leader of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, her and her following sisters used their power to guide young people towards a hope for the future. Giving them as much guidance and support in their learning and developing education. Her organisation was not for profit making it accessible to those around them and influenced others in later years to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

Prophetic- Mackillop stood up for the rights of others and her personal beliefs without fearing the complications it might later cause. She gave people a voice, an opportunity to talk about the injustices such as working conditions, gender inequality and aboriginal rights. Her main belief was that the power of knowledge and education should be provided to all no matter their class, gender or race. Mary founded the Bay View House for girls which supplied them with a range of new skills and subjects and St Joseph with Father Woods.
