After reading chapter 23 of Frankenstein, reflect on the concept of revenge. Analyze
the idea here. What is it? Why does it happen? Is it ever justified? How will the concept
of revenge fuel this story from this point forward? What do you think will happen next?

Revenge is when someone had harmed you so you want to get them back by harming them as well. This happens because the person feels like in order to make it even they have to get revenge on the person who has harmed them, they believe it will make it better. Sometimes revenge is justified, it really just depends on how far the person is taking it and what the other person did to deserve revenge.

revenge is getting back at someone who did you wrong, it happens when the monster wants frankenstein to experience the same pain he did, it is never fully justified because getting revenge on someone doesn't always make it right. it fuels this story to show no matter what victor did the monster will always be there to haunt him. I believe victor will try to go after the monster and kill it.

Revenge is human construct to one up another person, animal or even an object. Revenge happens when a person feels wronged by something and decides to makes what wronged them feel what they felt and for the person's own satisfaction. Revenge can never be justified as it is inflicting whatever negative emotion a person felt onto another. I think that revenge will develop greatly in the text as Victor seeks his own.

Moving forward with Victor's newfound sworn revenge to the monster I think both characters are going to cause themselves more pain. Revenge might seem nice because you hurt the other person after they hurt you but in reality it only causes more problems and stress to yourself.

Revenge is a natural construct which has been rooted in our history since the beginning of evolution. It is an urge to cause an equal or greater amount of harm to an individual or group in response to harm they caused you. I don't think it's ever justified because nobody benefits, and in the end, all it causes is more harm which usually escalates in scale. I believe the concept of revenge will further fuel the plot of "Frankenstein" by giving Victor the motivation he needs to kill the monster once and for all.
