Y'all are rocking it with your new piglets!

Luke: this is your first year and you are KILLING it! Everytime I come in the barn your pen is immaculate! Keep it up!

Kristin: Berks are typically messy, but your pen has been clean everytime I see it - also your communication is fantastic!

Mollie: Thank you for being observant about the ants! I know you're having a hard time with your pig running her water, but hopefully we can continue to troubleshoot that! Other than the water issue, your pen is looking great too!

Be watching out for ants! 7s dust is going to be your friend. When using it, sprinkle in places where you have ants and mix some in your bedding while your pig is in the wash rack. Once you let the dust settle for 15 minutes or so, return your pig to the pen. If your pig has bites, give 5 mg of liquid benadryl and apply Benadryl cream to any bites.

Cough and Upper Respiratory Issues

Guys, please monitor your pigs for coughs. Just because they cough doesn't automatically mean they're sick - sometimes they inhale food or shavings and may hack a bit. If it is a consistent, wet sounding cough, let me know and we can come up with a treatment plan after I check them out.

Also, a thermometer will come in handy. Normal temp for a pig is 101.5-103.5. If you suspect your pig is sick, take their temperature rectally.
