I currently work as a Housing coordinator/outreach worker for MACH OneHealth, and it is a pretty demanding job, so I am hoping to just find the balance. I actually took this course last summer, but I could not be exempt from it in the MSW program because I got a BC the first time around. Here's to hoping for at least a B this time!

I am a "flat lander" so I've been told by my Wisconsin friends, from Illinois. Currently living there now as well but I work in Rock County just across the border. I am in my second year of the MSW PTP. I am pretty anxious about this class as this does not feel like it will be my strong suite! 

I have a yellow lab who I am obsessed with and I sing and play guitar - though my band dissolved just before COVID.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to tell me about yourself. I am super excited to learn with you this summer. 

Teaching research methods is literally one of my dreams come true. I began my PhD program straight after undergrad, so I know the anxiety that is associated with learning research. What I learned is this: students attend school to learn. The reality is, you are only expected to know how to write; and I can help you there. 

So read the readings, take notes during readings and lectures, and ask as many questions as you need to. I am also more than willing to chat with you via zoom. 

You are not alone, we are in this together and we'll have fun learning together.

My not-so-useful super power is that I look good in all hats. Literally, never worn a hat that didn't look good on me. Some people have a face for radio, I guess I have a head for hats? My other talent is being neurodivergent!

I was accepted into their BSW Program for my senior year and plan to apply for the MSW program this fall in the hopes of attending the following year. I am a current United States Army Reserve member and work with a unit stationed out of Chicago, Illinois. I also work as a Public Safety officer at Madison Area Technical College. My goal is to finish my master's degree and become a mental health counselor at the VA or Vet Center here in Madison. I also plan to reclass my military job to become a commissioned officer in the reserves as a social worker. I have been coping with the isolation by focusing on progressing both my military career and my civilian education and maintaining my physical health by going to the gym. I live near a nature preserve, so I make time to go outside and get fresh air. I also maintain contact with my friends and family by calling and texting/messaging them.
