The object I chose is my house. It is a large, comfortable, and quiet place. It is a pink house with orange details, it has many advantages, a huge yard, an open garage and two balconies. It is used to inhabit and live in it. It is use to be a place to live and develop. I consider my house as an object of my family's heritage since it is a place that my whole family appreciates, since it is where my siblings and I lived our entire childhood and developed together, we lived so many good moments in the house, we cried, we laughed, etc. until we stopped living there to go to study on another state of the country.

This instrument is called 'sogo'. The sogo is a traditional Korean instrument that is made of leather on both sides and is beaten with wooden stick. Koreans mainly learn this instrument in elementary school. I consider this object to be a historical object that is part of family heritage. This is because the fact that I learned Korean culture not only from me but also my parents' generation seems to have a historical meaning that culture continues.

I chose a relicary, which is a container of pure silver, with the traditional use of withholding within it part of the ashes of a deceased member of one's family made in this fashion so the container even in 60 years will not rust or wear down. The Relicary is unique in the sense that it averages at around 10 grams of weight, without excluding the ashes within it, and in practicality it would imply that it is somewhere around 10 grams of pure silver. Pure Silver is a rather unique artifact because Silver was a part of Mexican History since the colonial times when it began being harvested, and the fact that it is a cross grants it religious symbolism of my family's religion, christianity, which happens to also be something only introduced until the conquests began in the year 1519 led by Hernan Cortes. What makes it special to our family however is that even in 60 years, it will contain the legacy of my father without being tampered with.

The necklace shown in the picture was owned by my great grandmother when she was around 22 years old. I may describe it as detailed silver jewelry with and a pearl pendant. Throughout the years, the silver color it originally had, has tarnished. Also, the side pieces that are suppose to hold the necklace have become loose. Personally, I use it as an accessory for special family- related events such as weddings, bachelorettes and fifteen anniversary parties. It’s main function is to acts as a complement for clothing , in order to help it to outshine the outfits of others. I consider it as a historical family object because of the different people who have owned it. As I mentioned before, it was originally owned by my great grandmother which was then passed to my grandmother, then to my mom and finally to me. Even though we both lived during a different century, now a days I still believe it to be such a beautiful piece.

This is a pendamt that belonged to my grandmother from my mothers side, its a beautiful golden color with black accents, it has a circular shape and flower details. It is used as an accessory and it has been passed down form three generations. Its very aesthetic and it is a very significant piece in my family because of its history and meaning. Its part of my families history because it was a gift that my grandfather gave to my grandmother in their honeymoon, that is way it is very important because of its memories.

This is a pasta machine, also known as "pastalinda" in spanish. It was inherited to my mother by her grandmother who used to be french, married to a polish (my great grandfather). This tool can be used to stretch pasta dough and cut it into noodles. It was very important to my forefathers since it was used to produce the everyday meal. Now a days, pasta machines are mainly stainless steel. But this wooden pasta machine, for me, represents a tasty meal that was taught for generations in my family. It is part of a family tradition. :)

The object shown in the picture was my grandmother’s music box, and when she died it was inherited to my mother. This music box has a rectangle shape and inside the box there is a skeleton figure with a red hat, red bow, red gloves, and red heels. When you turn on the music box the skeleton “dances” and music is produced. There is also a shelf in the lower part of the box with color purple and yellow. The function this music box has is now a days decorative because it doesn’t work but it has sentimental value to it. This music box is located in my big sister’s room. I consider this object important and part of my family’s legacy because it is a way my family remembers my grandmother.

The object I selected for this assignment is a piece of paper which is framed. It is a bit old and some parts of it are broken which makes it a bit fragile. This piece of paper states that my great great grandfather Dr. Jose Pozas was approved by the board to be a professor of surgery. It fulfilled it´s function a long time ago when he was still alive and still able to teach. Nowadays it is just a piece of paper with sentimental value to my family and it is located in the office of my father in the Hospital Zambrano Hellion where he practices medicine. It is more of a family legacy because all of the descendants of my family were doctors that means the son of Dr. Jose Pozas was a doctor and his son too all the way to my father and it is sort of where it all started and holds a special place in our family history.

The object I selected for this assignment is an ancient table for a sewing machine. The table is made of iron, and my mom says it has the same color from many years ago. It's main function is to served as a pedal, and help the sewing machine to sew. For the table to work, an old sewing machine needs to be installed, because machines from nowadays work automatically by plugging it to electricity.
I consider this object as historical and part of my family legacy because my grandma used to sew a lot, and teach my mom in the same machine. Also because this table reminds us of my grandma, she really enjoyed being creative in many ways.

The object I picked is a painting of the last supper which has a big meaning in the Christian religion, it isn´t that preserved as it has clear marks that it has been eaten by the sun lately and the colors are no longer as vivid as they once were since now they look yellowish. This painting has no use but appreciation, its a replica of a piece of art and it´s main use is to bring a life to a certain room of a house. This object is located in the living room as it´s a gift from my grandmother. This object is historical as it once belonged to my great grandmother and it has stayed within our family for generations, this is part of our family legacy as we are Catholics which is a branch from Christianism and it represented our values, I say represented because those were our values my family has evolved and adapted new beliefs.

The object I chose is a clock with angels holding the clock. It is a metal delicate made clock with a lot of details on the structure of it. Physical characteristics that this object has involves the appearance of a metal women and a angel baby holding onto the women's dress. This object has 20+ years old and this is very important in my family due to the value of it. The story behind the clock was when my parents met in a clock store out of nowhere and a random Chinese worker gave it away to my parents. My parents did not met each other until they saw each other at the store and both got a great connection from there and the clock represents how time is often looked as something that doesn't go back and how eventually destiny will put you in your place with what you deserve and it is just a matter of time. No matter how long the path is, we will always go and end to where we belong. The clock had basic functions and it was used to measure the time. The functions that these fulfilled was to give time to people who wondered what time is it and it also made huge admirations with the structure of it. I consider this historical due to the fact of showing a long period of its existence and the meaning of it and how this attracts good luck and new child as in bringing joy to a women that desires to have babies. It is part of my parents legacy due to the meaning of it and how this was a first step in meeting each other. The clock represents union.

It is very popular for the mexican culture to have a piece of of any religious artifact in your house, so thats why my family has held this painting that has the attributes of being big and covers a considerable space in any wall, that was made by my great grandfather, which has also been involved and very popular in his neighborhood for his artistics skills, and not only does my family holds one, but every child of his also holds one to be under the same protection of god.

In order for the paintings to be linked, according to our family's culture, it would have to been hang up in the same space as the other ones who held it, in this case we chose to be the living room where the item had to be held.

I consider this item to be historically representative of our family's bloodline because since it was made from our great grandfather, then it had led to be something that has gone through generations and still be very relevant to my family.

The one on the left is a gold cross, and the one in the right is a ceramic angel figure. The cross is tiny, and it was made to use it as a necklace, it is old but still very well preserved. The angel figure, is made of ceramic, using white and pink tones, the tones have been changing throughout time, and it is an oval, with an image carved in it of an angel.
The cross was used as a necklace, it is blessed by a priest, and it is used to protect you and a sign that god is with you.
The ceramic angel is more of a decoration, since it is fragile, but it has a prayer in the back of it, so it also was used to say prayers.
This items have a very important meaning to us, the cross was worn by my great-grand mother for an estimate of 15 years, and it was one of her precious possessions, when she passed away, my grand mother received it and kept it, who then gave it as a gift to my mom. The ceramic angel, was given to me as a gift from my grand mother in the day of my birth, it was hers for a long time, and decided to give it to me so that it would give me companionship.

This object that I chose is a really old radio that belonged to my great grandmother, it is like half an arm long and about a hand high. On the front it has what it seems to be the speakers where the music came out from and two little buttons where you could tune the station you wanted to listen to, as well as a little screen like piece, where you could see what station you were actually in.

I know that my great grand mother used this little radio to listen to audio novels and news everyday and my grandfather used to tell me how se would sit and knit every afternoon listening to the radio.
This information only reassures that the object was full filling its purpose which was both decorative and functional on a daily basis.

This radio has been in my house for as long as I can remember and we as a family consider it to be historically representative for our family because the stories we’ve been told (my uncles and my cousins) throughout our lives, are much commonly involved or running around this little piece of technology. I’m really sorry that I doesn’t work any more but despite of that, I can say that it is part of our
family.
