The women helped in many ways in the civil war mostly as nurses and would dress as men to fight in the war because weren't allowed to. Women got so tired of this unfair treatment that they started a whole protest known as the women suffrage protest which changed women's rights forever. Without the women men wouldn't have been healed, wouldn't have help serve in war and way more people would have died. The women really wanted equal rights and would stand up for themself in all types of ways.
