I can connect the text about rhinos to me going to a place in Victoria that was by a river, and it had this statue of these rhinos that were the last 2 of they’re species, and the very sad thing was that they were both girls so they couldn’t breed. I also think by now they may be extinct since this was more then a year ago.

I can connect the text about rhinos to all the rhinos being poached everyday and how it’s really bad and sad for them since they never did anything wrong.

   I think that rhinoceros should be paid more attention because of elephants. It my humble opinion that rhinoceros are in the shadows of elephants because of there similarities and them both being endangered .

The picture of the man feeding the rhino reminds me of when I went to the zoo and we got to touch a rhinoceros.

My text to text connection is about the sumatran rhinoceros to the book dinosaurs everything book. It’s a non-fiction book telling about dinosaurs life and extinction. This connects to each book because in the first it talks about these people who talk about animal bone genes. This relates to the dinosaur book because the book educates people to be palaeontologist. Although in the rhinoceros piece it makes me feel sad about how people have been killing rhinos for their skin and fur. This makes me think if their are many jobs about studying genes of animals.

My text to world connection is that if they are going to bring animals back to life. I’ve been watching these videos of people trying to bring back extinct animals. What they do, is that they find their closest DNA from another animal. I wonder if this will happen to any other animals. I am also wondering if people or zoologist are taking care of the animals and critically endangered animals they look after in the zoos all around the world. This gets me thinking about how they breed the animals and make breeding programs.

My text to self connection if about how people find the lost DNA from fossilised bones that are dug from the ground. This makes me think about how my dream job is to be a palaeontologist. Because I’ve been watching these documentaries about them. This makes me think about how they do such a hard cycle of finding an animals DNA. Also makes me wonder about what they use to do it. I know it is good to know what you like to do, then you find a job about whatever your thinking about. I infer they wanted to do this specific job.

Text to text: I read an information report on animals and facts about them and I saw a page about rhino’s talking about how people hunt them or poach them for their horns or skin and it made me really mad that people still hunt animals for material and their own luxury but do not care about the animals and their species. I like that scientists and other people are taking a stand up for animals and trying to stop hunters poaching them for fun and for their own material. I hope that these protests and people taking actions will finally change so our environment and our world can be safer and healthier.

When it said "rainforest loner". It reminded me of myself every playtime. It also reminded me of when me and my dad went on a bush-walk and saw a lone/wild echidna.

This book made me remember a book I read where in the 1950's, red wolves were almost extinct due to hunting, at one point in time, there were only 23 recorded red wolves in Northern California.

This book also reminded me of the time back in the 1990's, when GREY wolves almost went extinct in Canada! It got so bad that U.S parks had to started a captive breeding program to re-populate Canadian forests. This went on for almost 3 decades!!!

The Sumatran rhinos are the smallest of the 5 rhinos there are in the world! The researchers have found 7 rhinos from Borneo 8 from Sumatra and 7 from Malay. The Sumatra rhinos are nearly extinct there is only like 30% of those rhinos.

There are many books and texts that are of animals getting extinct and they say so many reasons why we should help the animals.

Text to world: This text is like the real world because many animals are becoming endangered  just like the Sumatran rhino. Some examples are tigers and elephants. Some are already extinct like wooly mammoths and the Tasmanian tiger.

Text to self: This book talks about researchers, I remember with my homework I had to research a lot to find out information, just like how the researches in the text had to find out more about Sumatran rhinos. I also get told to research a lot for my homework.

Txw:I found out that only around 80 Sumatran are living.This could decrease and decrease more and more.But we can save them and make a change.They live in africa,Borneo and Sumatra island rainforests.There are other animals that are in danger such as the elephant.

Txs:When I was in thai land I rode a elephant.So I regret riding on it because they are going extinct.But that was in 2017 so there should be more elephants back then back still they are going extinct and someone was whipping the elephant.

In the text it shows a picture of a rhinocero in the forest of Sumtra and that reminded me of when I went to the Daintree rainforest in Queensland.Also the Daintree rainforest is 650 million years old and that connects to how the Sumtran rhinoceros or related to the woolly rhinoceros.
