I remember the first time I met you. You had joined us for the Complaints QA conference in Singapore as it was the launch of these sessions. You were the loudest and tallest person in the room! We did not work closely together until I joined Commercial QA (best organization!!). It was not until Croatia that I felt we really connected outside of just a professional level. You are such a kind-hearted person who always wants the best in a person. We talked about our challenges and it felt like you just understood me. Although I have not known you as long as others on the team, you have left such an imprint. The next person has some big shoes to fill! I hope you enjoy retirement because YOU DESERVE IT. Please keep in touch – I can’t wait to see all of the adventures you go on. Send us photo updates! I will miss you dearly.

I can't imagine the feelings during the transition to retirement after 30+ years of service. It must be sweet and sour.

I imagine you have many new projects and adventures lined up for the next years, all the places that you want it to visit and things to do. Get off the QA hat role and enjoy life with simplicity and live life to the fullest as Abbott recommends, full of fun, music, adventures with family and friends.

It has been a great fortune to know you as a senior, and work with you as a colleague. You are the first German I have known in person (you and your team probably represent all the German population in my network which makes me love working with German!) and also the tallest person I have ever met other than the famous Chinese basketball player! It's a great pleasure to have you in our commercial QA team and we have made lots of great improvement these few years and make all our effort worth! Though I am super upset to have you absent from all our staff meeting, I am very happy for you to move on to the next phase of life and hope you and your family all the very best and please keep in touch and stop by Singapore sometime. I will bring you to some German food in Singapore (I know you prefer to stick with the European option)! I will miss your piano!

• Hubertus, I’ve only met you a handful of times, but each one was special and memorable. You are possibly the most German German person I’ve ever met. I still chuckle at remembering you counting the number of pages in the OACA supplier documents. Was it 192?? You are an amazing person to be around. Every conversation I’ve had with you made me learn something new, have a good laugh or think about something differently. You have made a lasting positive impression on all of us in ADC. I hope we get to hear from you and how you are spending retirement. I will keep you updated on the number of pages in the OACA supplier documents. All the best in retirement my friend! It was a pleasure working with you when I was at ADC.

You constantly supported our team with your wealth of experience, knowledge and encouragement.

You also always gave us instructions and inspiration; Sorry I meant direction and inspiration. Lol

How many meetings and discussions did we have on economic operators? For a while, those    discussions were haunting me. I remember several change of directions, but we were a great team and had great laughs at team dinners which made it easier to go back to the same discussion and start all over again the next day. 

Congratulations on all your achievements and all the years of hard work in reaching your retirement.

Time goes very quickly. It seems it was only yesterday when we started working together to prepare our first “Consortium Audit” for Iberia 😉. From then on, we have had great moments together.

I want to thank you for all the years we have been working together. I have learned a lot from you. We have managed difficult situations by implementing procedures, different issues in the affiliates, and taking care of a lot of audits but we had always a good result.

Although this year we weren’t working so closely, I want you to know that you are a very important part of my professional life.

I wish you all the best in your next step. I hope you enjoy, you deserve it 😉.

(PD: I tried to find pictures when we had our first audits in Madrid and Lisbon, but I have noticed that I don't have the pictures. You have all of them, hahaha)

thanks for our critical conversations at the beginning of my career at Abbott. Was the first time in a regulated environment for me. You were always a good guide and sparring partner for me in quality questions. So many memories of we executed for Libre (e.g. Russian warehouse). Your served our countries and patients.

die Zeit rennt! Kaum zu glauben, dass wir uns schon über 20 Jahre kennen und du jetzt die wohlverdiente Rente geniessen wirst. Ich erinnere mich gerne an manch lebhafte Diskussion und an viele unterhaltsame CRBs. Und an Tanzeinlagen auf Weihnachtsfeiern - leider habe ich kein Foto gefunden 😊.
