Driving question: What were some of the causes and/or events that impacted and further perpetuated antiwar sentiment in the US?

The media had a major impact on how Americans viewed the war as many films/shows that would cover the war tried to make the war seem positive however the footage and casualty counts from the war really made people pick a side. Music also had a major influence on how people perceived the war. Many artists music would reflect popular opinions held by the nation, with music like "fortunate son" and "we gotta get out of this place". Going along with the media the release of the Pentagon papers did not help the Pro war side in anyway. The papers showed how the US lied about statistics and how they were actually fighting in Vietnam. This led to a Nationwide opinion of why we are even fighting in this war, Which leads into another topic of how the US civilians showed their views on the war. Protests, marches, and talks were held to show that the majority of people of the United States and even Vietnam war veterans did not want to keep fighting in a war that they did not believe/agree with.
