Potato pancakes is easy to be prepared and almost every lithuanian likes it a lot (indeed, Lithuanians are very fond of potatoes and eat all potato dishes with pleasure). This dish requires 1-2 kg potatoes (depends on a persons, who are going to eat, number), 2 eggs, 1-2 onions, some salt, pepper and a pan with a heated oil. You need to grate potatoes, to add two eggs, two grated or choped onions, add salt and pepper and to bake in the pan. It can be served with sour cream or mushroom sauce.

Rye bread is one of the very basics in Finnish food culture, and also the item many Finns take with them when they travel. "Jälkiuuni" in the name means that the bread has been baked slowly in the oven in "leftover heat" after some other cooking. Originally this would be a big loaf of very dark bread, but now we have a modernised version in the form of bread chips - with the same wonderful taste, but easy to take with you. What we will have with it will depend on what Finnish canned stuff I can find at the airport shops at 5 am. Fish is a strong candidate.
