- My expectations for this class is to learn more about how our Government runs and how it deals with certain situations. Also I expect to learn how to be more of a civil citizen and learn about how I can attribute more to political events. My interest level into politics has never been real high, but I think as I learn more about these political views and issues, my interest level will sky-rocket.

I have never really had any knowledge about the Supreme Court and its justices, but this video was very interesting to me. I never knew that three women were appointed to Supreme Court Justices first. I have always thought is was only one women started it, and then time took its course. I also thought it was cool that they appointed by the President and they did not have to do anything major like use any force to get in, like what almost all women's rights/equality events.

1. I think using both methods of reading the Declaration out loud helps me understand the meaning of the document a lot better. Reading at first helps give you a little grasp of what it means, but hearing the document out loud and receiving the information from the document a second time gave me a better understanding of the Declaration.
2. My favorite part of the Declaration of Independence were the part where they stat that "we declare that we to be free" and all of the other rights they have. It just clarifies our victory of freedom and rights not in control of Great Britain.

1. Overall, I thought the movie was pretty good, the acting was pretty cheesy but I liked it. I liked how was very detailed in the Senate room and how it was closely similar to the actual Senate room. I also liked how Miss Saunders explained to Mr. Smith the entire process of how a idea becomes a bill. I think that was a very cool thing because it is very had for a bill to be passed. I also liked how Mr. Smith and Miss Saunders went through the whole process to get Mr. Smith's bill passed. Those are the major things that I liked in the movie.

2. I believe in this movie Mr. Smith would have been in the Democratic Party, because he was in chargers of the boy rangers, and the do fun, outdoor activities, and love the outdoors. I also think this would apply to present day because the Democrats love the environment and want more people to be in support in protecting the environment. I also believe that the bill Mr. Smith he proposed in the movie would not have been passed in present day because he could have created the camp on his own, without it being a law for US government. He could have made the camp his own privately owned camp.

3. I would compare Mr. Smith to Tammy Duckworth who is the Senate minority leader for the sate of Illinois. She is a democrat which I believe is the same party Mr. Smith would be in. I compare these two as similar because the both have democratic ideals like the both care about the environment. When the Obama administration was in the White House they made a lot of regulations and other rules to protect the environment and to bet more people involved with the environment. I know Duckworth supported that and I think Mr. Smith would have supported those rules as well.
