This sentence helps the reader to understand the conditions of the people living in the dumps and it is really hard to imagine a small child growing up in the garbage.

It's sad to see how the government doesn't care and doesn't take care of the poor people in the dumpsites. They are treated like dishes and animals. The rest of the population sees them like less than nothing.

This moment is important because we discover why Gabriel Olondriz was taken to
prison

We can con state that Olivia feels really bad, she is very uncomfortable because she sees for the first time what life in prison really looks like. And it shows how much the prisoners are badly treated.

I think this is something very important. There are so many people that thinks that the most important
in life is working and making money. But it’s not just that that matters in life. Having friends and love
must also be part of our lives. Just as she (Olivia) says, “all of that is important”.
