I chose #2 because the assessment of students and families is already complete, so now it is time to build relationships with them- get to know them more. #3 I would use the knowledge that I already acquire to then create lessons, projects, and activity's that best correlate to my students, their family, and our community. #4 is where i integrate the curriculum into the meaningful lessons/projects/activities- this creates a fun, interactive way for our students to learn. #5 is promote child development and learning, to which I would encourage, support, and push my students to keep progressing. Last but not least, #6. If all #1 - #5 was successful, you have reached becoming a professional.

As a teacher you have to understand boundaries and how to act around others. Building a relationship with families will give you better access to helping that child succeed. The parents might feel comfortable telling you what their child might truly struggle with and what could be going on in their outside life. Our number 1 goal is to keep the children safe and learning. Bonding with the families and students is the first step to doing that. If we have a meaningful and interesting curriculum it will get the children engaged and they will enjoy school. Observing and seeing what is happening in your class room can get you a better understanding on how some children maybe learn in the classroom. Having this information can further this child's education.

Observe, document, and assess to support young children and families

3. Using developmentally effective approaches to connect with children and families

5. Using content knowledge to build meaningful curriculum
6. Becoming a professional

Although I ranked becoming a professional as 6, I do still feel that it is an important standard to have. I just feel that the five other standards are more important, because without achieving these first five standards, I would be unable to become or grow as a professional. For me, promoting child development and learning is my ultimate goal as a professional. Next to this standard is building family and community relationships. The most important thing in a childrens' lives is their families and individuals around them. If I do not have an appropriate relationship with these individuals, the children will not trust me, therefore, they will not learn and develop effectively. Supporting the children and families and creating/building meaningful curriculum are part of my roles of becoming a professional. So, again, I am not saying that becoming a professional is not important, but there are so many roles and standards to follow in order to become that professional.

2. Build family and community relationships

3. Observe, document, and assess to support young children and families

1. Using developmentally effective approaches to connect with children and families

5. Using content knowledge to build meaningful curriculum
6. Becoming a professional
4. Promoting child development and learning
I chose using developmentally effective approaches to connect with children and families first because I feel like that is how you make the connections. By using effective approaches specifically designed for this reason. Next, I chose building family and community relations because to be a successful teacher you need to be trusted, respected, and known. Next, I chose observe, document, and assess to support young children and families because you need to get to know the families just as much as they need to get to know you. Once you understand their dynamics you can figure out how to better help their child and their needs as a teacher. Next, I put promoting child development and learning because you need the parents to try and be involved in their kids' learning development. After that, I put
using content knowledge to build a meaningful curriculum because you need to build around your class. You need to make your curriculum meet your students not the other way around. Last, I put to become a professional because yes it is important to uphold, but with all the regulations and rules each school has sometimes you will have to be okay with breaking a few rules to help your student's needs, and in most eyes that'll make you "unprofessional" to not be able to separate emotions, but that in my opinion is what makes you a good teacher.

Becoming a professional
First, I put becoming a professional because in any type of job it is important to be professional. Second is the most important that is to build family and community relationships. It is important to have good relationships because it is communication to help your children succeed in the classroom and collaborate ideas that help. It is important because of trust as well. Third I chose using developmentally effective approaches towards parents and students because it is important to be an advocate. Fourth I put to build a meaningful curriculum because it is important to collaborate of how to connect the curriculum with the students in the best way possible. Then I chose to promote learning for children because learning needs to take place in order to observe, document and asses the students.

Second is to build a family and community relationships. This is second because it is one of the most important aspects in teaching. It's important to be able to have professional conversations with families on how their child is doing in school and it's important to be a part of the community because it's important to understand how the community is, how they talk, and what's going on. Third, using developmentally effective approaches to connect with children and families will assist with how the students can work inside and out of the classroom. Fourth, promote child development and learning. It's very important but before this can work it is important to have the other three standards filled in. Fifth, Using content knowledge to build meaningful curriculum. In order to do this you will need to learn about the students and community to build the curriculum the best way possible. Lastly, Observe, document, and assess to support young children and families. As the rest of the standards this one is just as important. In order to be able to do this you will need to be able to understand how the environment works such as the community.
