I just wanted to say thank you for everything you did. I know it was a really hard time, but you all worked so hard to help everyone you are all heroes.

We honor the first responders who ran toward danger and the brave passengers of Flight 93 who sacrificed themselves to save others.

Their selfless courage showed the world the strength of the human spirit in the face of unimaginable terror. We must never forget their sacrifice and the profound sense of unity that followed.

So many of you were brave enough and ran towards danger and risked your lives to help others, and that takes a lot of courage and sacrifice . The events of that day were chilling in their execution and profound in their consequences. Nineteen terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes. Two of these planes were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. Another struck the Pentagon, the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, was headed for the U. S. Capitol but crashed in Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to regain control from the hijackers. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people and injured thousands more, leaving a scar on the national psyche.

However, alongside that pain, 9/11 also brought forth an extraordinary display of heroism and resilience that continues to inspire. The selflessness of the first responders—firefighters, police officers, paramedics—who bravely ran into danger as others fled, performing acts of incredible courage and sacrifice, is etched into our collective memory. Civilians too, on Flight 93 and within the towers, showed remarkable bravery, making sacrifices to save others.

Their actions were meaningful because they demonstrated the power of unity and compassion in the face of unimaginable tragedy. They reminded us of the inherent good in humanity, the unwavering commitment to duty, and the extraordinary lengths individuals will go to protect and help one another.
