The central idea of this article is that the Army is making many African American women cut their hair and its outraging. They wear their hair a certain way and its empowering to them. The rule is that it specifically bans certain hairstyles, including twists, large cornrow braids and dreadlocks, popular among black women. The Army eventually realizes that the grooming and appearance policies are unfair for African American women. The policies will be reviewed over the next 3 months.

My opinion on this matter is that i agree with the African American women because I personally think anyone who isn't violating the headgear code should be able to wear their hair however they want too.

The central idea is that the Army has a hair regulation that bans most of the styles African-American women would have and people were trying to get rid of the policy. They banned styles like twists, large cornrow braids and dreadlocks which most black women wear. They allow wigs and extensions, but they must have no distinction from your own hair, which means they must chemically alter your hair or get damaging weaves.

Asia

The main idea of the article was too inform the army about the new rule they put for black people of how they cant put there hair. And about how they need to look professional when they work. Also how Jacob argued about why black people cant where there hair out and the soldiers hair could not be in the way of them while they work. The army did not like how they black people in the army wear there hair out. And they been told they have been told for so long and from so many sources that there hair is not good enough and that it must be straight and long. And Jacob stop straightening her hair for four years ago. And the army has to admit they were uneducated. And this is why I think black people should just were there hair any kind of way they want.

It is also very hard for them to put on extensions weave and make their hair straight all the time . The Goverment realized that is was very unfair for them. My opion is that i think that African American women should be able to be themselfs and for them to put their hair however they want without people telling them that they have to change it .

The central idea of the article is that African American girls that are in the army cannot wear their hair however they want to. For example in the article it said, " That changed in April when the Army issued rules about how women in uniform can wear their hair, along with regulations about tattoos." Another example is that, "Jacobs, who wears two-strand twists, launched a White House petition to cancel the ban. She argued that it punishes the more than 26,000 black women on active duty in the Army." My opinion on this issue is that any women should be able do any hairstyle in their hair.

For example, in the text it said, "At the end of the day, it hit so personally, because it was so offensive and insulting." " To tell black women that their hair isn't good enough is hurtful." I believe that they could put their hair any way they want to without no one judging.
