But American soldiers had some advantages. Instead of standing around and waiting for orders like the British did, American soldiers fired their guns a lot more than the British did. They also moved around a lot more than the British did, so they were able to cover more ground and get places quicker. But despite the advantages they had, there were many disadvantages as well. For every American soldier, there was an estimated three British soldiers. American soldiers also had less shelter, food, ammunition, weapons, and clothing, which was a huge downside. One of them was the "tea act", which was a tax on multiple products, mainly tea, which was very popular back then. Basically the British East India Company controlled all the tea and where it went.
