Born on, Martin Luther king Jr. On January 15th 1929.At the age of 12, Martis grand mother, Jeannine died. This was a tragic moment for him, even more so because he was out watching a parade against his parents. Young Martin jumped out of a window of his familys house tring to commite suicide.

Even though his family was strongly attached to church and religion, young Martin questioned religion in general and felt uncomfortable with overly emotional displays of worship. But in his junior year, Martin took Bible class, renewed his faith and began to envision a career in the ministry .

The death of a legacy

By 1986, the year of demonstrations and confrontations were beginning to wear on Martin Luther King Jr. He had grown tired of marches, going to jail, and living under the constant threat of death. He was becoming discouraged at the slow progress civil rights in America and the increasing criticism from other African-Americans leaders. Plans were in works for another march on Washington to revive his movment and to bring attention to a widening range of issues. In the spring of 1968, a labbor strike in Memphis sanitation workers drew King to one last crusade. On April 3, in what proved to be an eerily prophetic speech, he told his supporters, ' I've seen the promis land. I may not get there with you but I know that tonight we will get to the promise land.' The next day Martin Luther King Jr. was struck by a snipers bullet. The death caused riots in more than 100 cities across the contrary.
