Check-in Slips could be used for math content areas, in which there is a task or a series of task the student must complete. In earlier grades this could be used as morning work, while in upper grades it can be used as a beginning of the unit assessment. This allows the teacher to see what the student knows before completing a new task, which can help the teacher gear their lesson.
