For his protest in 1965 the African American people can to vote.

When he returned to India he became a politIcal  activist and he also led the movement for India independence from the British Empire.
Gandhi went to prison several times and he refused to eat in prison as a protest.
The Salt March in 1930 was one of Gandhi's most successful protests.
